I use Cold Spices and a couple others from PAA. Plus Proraso of course. Back in the day, I shaved with Old Spice pucks. Loved em. The Cold Spices is wonderful. One of mine and my wife's favorite. The new formula is outstanding too. They are worth the money.

If Paul would actually recognise this scent as original Shulton, then it must be really good. Just ordered some Cold Spices and can't wait to try it out!

PAA does do a Brut, it's called "Et Tu", and it's absolutely 100% bang on to the original. I think they just brought it back after briefly discontinuing it for a bit.

Awesome shave Paul. My Dad passed in 1989, one year before I retired from the US Navy. Flew to Charleston, SC for his burial at the VA cemetery there. Still have his razors he used.

My Wife lost her Grandpa/Dad back in April this year.He was a WW2 Vet who got around good and was 96 yrs old young.I like old pictures and that is a super special one.Thanks for sharing Paul.👍👍

Like you, my father passed some years ago, but I still remember watching him shave as a young boy. Today I’m going over to my Godson’s house to have one of our Sunday morning shaves. My Dad isn't much into wearing after shave scents. But the only scent I'll remember him wearing is his Factory Work Smell. My Grandpa every time I went go to see him as a kid he smelled like Old Spice. Awesome Memories. RIP To Dad!

SOD , Merkur 34c, Wilkinson sword blade, Edwin Jagger Hydrating Pre shave, Palmolive shave stick ( Your fault I have 28 sticks left, bought them in bulk when they were going out of production, not bad advice). 2 Pass shave, alum block, finished with B. Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm 8-in-1 from Superdrug. If you take your mum and Dads picture to local photoshop, most of them do a photograph repair service. We had a picture of my mum and Dad on Honeymoon in London 17 December 1960 done. You couldn't notice the crack which had formed over many years. Good luck its worth doing you will be amazed what can be done with digital equipment today. You could even have it enlarged or have colour added if you know the colours.

My sotd will be I'm using my vintage shaving box it got a little mirror, the razor will be a Razorock Old type with a Gillette blue blade,brush PAA Peregrino, Arko soap and Epsilon aftershave. Nice shave Paul. My Dad passed in 2001. Now, YT gove me an ad for Henson razors made in Canada. I hope the company may send you 1 to review. It has a strike against it because it is not TTO which I prefer. However, it is interesting and apparently new. Since i trust your judgment above all other shavers, i hope you may be able to try it.

Hey Paul. Nice shave today and dedication to your father. My SOTD will be using a Gillette Slim Adjustable like the one I got from my dad back in ‘64 when he got a new razor. I love how that razor can still be so good after all these years. I’ll be using Stirling Island Man soap and splash, Gillette platinum blade and a Yaqi multi colored brush. Great shave. My dad told me that my grandfather used a DE razor himself back in the day, though I think he has no idea what model did he use. Still, when they picture me shaving with a safety razor, those memories come back to my parents because I’m evoking the image of their fathers using the same tool that me and other wet shavers in present day use now. My SOTD will be of the King C Gillette razor with a Wilkinson Sword blade, Wholly Kaw Entropy Man soap and AS, Omega 10066 brush. Hope you had a great Father’s Day

Happy Sunday Paul! Jim Reeves was a favorite of my father too and it is nice to hear these familiar songs. Gorgeous flowers Mrs. H; thank you!! The Old Spice is a classic Dad scent for sure. There are a few Old Spice scented soaps/aftershaves available: Soap Commander Endurance, Barrister and Mann Reserved Spice, Stirling Soap Co. Stirling Spice, Mama Bear Aged Spice. I think that is it. SOTD (AKA The Father's Day Blood Bath): Blackland Dart razor loaded with a late 1960's Gillette Super Stainless blade (4th use). Cella shave soap lathered with a Simpson Trafalgar T3 synthetic brush. Finished with styptic pencil, Thayer's AF SF skin toner, and Stirling Bay Rum aftershave. I did manage a smooth post shave feel, but it was a harsh shave. Never had much success with the Blackland Dart. It tends to bite me often and those seems to bleed more than the usual weepers. Pity. Still, I expect to be smooth for about 24 hours. Paul, these shaves dedicated to your Father are very touching to me. I wish I had my father's old razors, but those are long gone now. Thank you for sharing. Take care.

I've used this PAA version and you're right, Doug and Fran knock it out of the park with scents and performance. If possible, someday try Stirling Spice as it's also a spot on duplicate of Shulton Old Spice without the menthol, Rod and Mandy are amazing as well. Can't remember exactly what my father used to shave with but the Mennen Skin Bracer and Aqua Velva were on the shelf, no mistaking those. Gorgeous flowers today, simple and stunning, thanks Mrs H. SOTD" PAA Cube, Stirling "Satsuma" soap/splash, Honey Farms custom badger brush, RazoRock SS BBS razor w/Wizamet blade, alum, witch hazel and Terre D'Hermes EDP to finish....Fantastic. My grandfather was a Gillette man, he's the one that taught me to shave. And he nearly always used Old Spice, so that was my first foray into the "Kevin" face from Home Alone. How long does the scent from the soap last? I keep checking out the antique shops around here hoping that I'll find on Old Spice bottle, even if it's empty!

Hi Paul, the display by Mrs H is old fashiond in a good way and I'm sure, your mom would have loved it. Your Dad would have been impressed by the soap and carefully ask you, wether he could "borrow" that tub. Therefore he would even take his cigarette out and look you straight in the eyes....It's clear, that you would hand him that soap and some others to "try" and he would never run out of blades and now and than a new razor. My dad passed away 2019 and I can relay to those many small things, that are reminding you of yours. Old Spice is one of the "triggers" for sure. My sotd was: shower and cold water in the face, Lea mentolada shaving cream, facelahtered with Yaqi Sagrada Familia (24mm synthetic), King C Gillette razor and blade, Nivea cool sensitive aftershave balm and Osage Rub as aftershave. Well...now, I know, how it would feel to rub your fache with icecubes after the shave.... Nice and refreshing but a quite a challange....

Paul Soap Commander has a Scent Called Endurance Classic Spice which is very Nice also. I will be using it today with a Rockwell 6S.

PAA has Et Tu which is their take on Brut. As someone said below Soap Commander has a great "Old Spice" scent as well.

Happy Fathers' Day. (It's Fathers' Day here over the pond as well.) The razor I associate with my father is a late '60s Gillette Tech (i.e. without the registration ridge on the cap's underside, just four bumps to keep the blade in place). I never saw him use it: in all the time I knew him, he used an electric razor, but he had this Tech in the desk in his study. I have an English slim twist, which I got after seeing one on this channel a number of years ago (on Fathers' Day, I believe). In the next day or so, I'll use one of these Techs, and the Slim Adjustable, out of remembrance. SotD: Nada, I'm taking a day off. Yesterday's shave was way too close to repeat so quickly. MotD: Flank steak, fried onions and green peppers, and a baked sweet potato with lashings of butter. Best wishes to all.

Great tribute shave my friend. I've never smelled the original as an adult but from what I can remember stirling spice is pretty close. I tried Mama Bear's soap co. Aged spice and it smelled really clost too but my skin reacted to it so I couldn't use it :(. I want to try PAA now! I dont know about fathers day in the UK but it is in Canada. I would assume it would be in the UK as well. My brother is out of town working so the rest of the siblings are watching his dog. His way of saying thank you was to get one of those shout out videos from a celebrity. GRAHAM MCTAVISH! Dad loves the Hobbit and mom watched Outlander so it was a slam dunk. A fathers day and 60th birthday shout out for the both of them 😆.

Nice to hear 'Gentleman' Jim Reeves again 🙂 Do you know if there's a current/planned more genuine non mentholated version of this soap?? The menthol is great in Arizona but both options would be great in PAA soaps. The new German Wilkinson Sword blades feel rough to me. England's original Wilkinson Sword's technology is still available today in the Asco/Lord blades 😀

Hello Paul, I have the same razor but it has the black handle. I like it but no matter what blade I use it seems to feel scratchy. I have two versions of the Ck-6 soaps one of them smell like Irish Spring.

Paul , Stirling have a soap called Stirling Spice . it is very close to Old Spice and pairs very well with Old Spice aftershave

I've been looking for a soap that is close to the original Old Spice, because I can't justify the price that original Old Spice soaps are selling for now. I'll give this one a go - thanks!
