I was with the British army for 15 years until I got an early retirement on medical grounds and diagnosed with PTSD. I don't know why these songs make me feel so good, they really shouldn't. Ta muchly old boy
I thank you for you service, from the US. No matter the country you fought for, we respect anyone that has to go through the tragedies of being in any branch. 🇺🇸🤜🤛🇬🇧
That counts for the majority of WWII vets and ‘Nam vets, don’t get me wrong. People who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan had terrible experiences and a lot of them got mental issues due to it, but the majority of our military population who suffered the most back home are ‘Nam vets. Not ones from the middle east.
@@williamsherman1942 Tbh, that's likely most combat veterans of war period. But we were a lot less aware of the causes and effects of PTSD in the past. I doubt that the industrial-scale warfare of WW1 onwards helped at all, either.
For anyone asking why wojak is in an army uniform next to marines. Numerous army units were dispatched alongside the marines during both battles of fallujah, including the 82nd, 3rd infantry and armored , SOAR, and the 1st
"numerous" is still an understatement. But yeah. 'History' I guess what it is now, is always more complicated, yet simplified in textbooks and most sources.
I think it (at least personally) makes our suffering feel like alot less. Especially when you look at gritty battles like this that are basically fucking hell its kinda like "they did it, so im gonna do it"
tell us, Cody, what sits heavy on your heart? you are among understanding and keens ears/eyes, if you would like to share sth. have a chill day, and everyone else too
@@mr_metal. what sits heavy in my heart is the corrupted souls of young men and women who were blindly sent to war for virtually nothing. Twenty years down the drain and all I can think about are the survivors with lasting frustration, pain, sorrow, and guilt.
@@codytyler3392 war never changes, people can change the decisions, however. it's not compulsory to be a soldier in the US, but of course there are lots of parts of the world where it is and young people are getting sacrificed like pawns in a dirty chess game. however, enlisting is part of US culture and I kinda get it now with an older head that yes, if I would come from a village and all my friends would draft for service, I guess it just has a power that would make you change your own mind as well. though thoughts to consider, indeed, even if someone - like me, thank God - have not seen any of the horrors of war in live.
Hi Justin , it's the same as me, all those songs are a part of my daily day. I don't have the chance to fought in Iraq or Afghanistan, but I've got a idea. Ex-Cpl 3th Infantry Bataillon Royal 22 Regiment Canada served in Bosnia 94 and Kosovo 99. My respect 🙏
These masterpieces really take me back in time ya know just saying if you took lsd and listened to this you'd actually see what was happening (!! IN NO WAY AM I ENCOURAGING YOU TO DO LSD)!!
The video is said to take place in Fallujah which was invaded by the Marines. But in the picture we clearly see a Wojak wearing modern day Army camo. I mean what are we to believe this is some sort of a magic War on Terror or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
Well, major conflict was technically over when he said that. But as we all know we Americans disbanded the Iraqi Army, the fact that the military leaders didn’t protest this situation shows how much we rushed it and how we were blinded by the events of 9/11.
I play this every Sunday at 4:30 AM, at maximum volume on (6) Onkyo CS-265 Stereo Systems with enhanced arena-quality subwoofers from my balcony under an American flag wearing only an open bathrobe while drinking black coffee, and for the last year, no one has said a God damn thing. Every. Sunday.
@@poean2 that quote right there is one of the greatest statements ever, when Anthony Swofford wrote that he was so right. I came home after 12 years, built my own house, got married, had a son, and during all of that and the amount of years that passed, a part of me is still there, and still when I heard the 13 Marines killed in Afghanistan, it hit just as hard as when I lost my Marines. We are bound by that experience of fighting killing and dying
It’s good that war is hell, if war was great we would repeat it way too often. Limited wars are fine, but we cannot allow the cycle to break and to make it a habit. Though as a American, i don’t know anymore. We should probably focus more on domestic issues before criticizing country’s overseas lol
The stud in the center is Sgt McDade serving as a machine gun squad leader with V1/8 B Co earned a silver star for his actions in Fallujah. Shit like this gives me a moto boner
big respect for americans soldier they save mi country from communis in 1965 dominican republic civil war. god bles america. im going to join in the next year to the army
No respect needed, we did what we promised to all American states in our Monroe doctrine. Sometimes we Americans forget it too much, and our leaders like to ignore our obligation to keep the Americas safe due to them being supported by greedy American companies making money in corrupt govts in South America. Sometimes we do the right thing, sometimes we do not. 😕
Numerous army units were dispatched alongside the marines during both battles of fallujah, including the 82nd, 3rd infantry and armored , SOAR, and the 1st
A lot of your drills will have combat experience don't be afraid to ask more personal questions regarding combat experience most of them will have no problem giving you the real shit as they realize it could save your life one day at least if they're good ncos

We Americans could fight as much as we wanted ove there, the problem was incompetence by political and military leadership. If the Iraqi military wasn’t disbanded the insurgencies would’ve been shortened by a few years, and we might’ve prevented the bloody civil war.
