Every Thursday, Jan, your excellent videos were a ray of sunshine on RU-vid, I always looked forward to watching them and learning so much more from you. Wow. Very sad. I just found out he died. He was FANTASTIC at what he did, the best Gimp tutorials I have ever seen. Such a calm and reassuring voice. I give my condolences to his family. I am truly very saddened.

Hoi Jan, bij jouw tutorials zie ik meestal wel iets die ik nog niet wist of gewoon niet gebruikte. Dit keer was het dat omdraaien/spiegelen van de onderste laag. Heel leuk effect vind ik dat. Alvast een fijn weekend en ik ben benieuwd wat je volgende week weer in petto hebt :-)

Perhaps I've missed it, but can you do a tutorial on how to remove distracting objects in a photo? For instance, a photo of a tree, but you want to get rid of a fence post, but don't or can't crop it out.

Nous n'avons pas de détails sur ce qui est arrivé à Jan, juste que malheureusement il nous a quittés. C'est Barth Put qui nous l'a annoncé (tu peux regarder son commentaire sur cette page). Jan faisait du très beau travail et c'était un plaisir d'échanger quelques mots en commentaires avec lui. Je pense qu'il manque à beaucoup de monde.

Oui, c'est tres triste en effet. J'ai lu le message de Barth Put et ca m'a beaucoup attristé. J'ai beaucoup progressé sur Gimp grace à Jan, et il etait d'une grande gentillesse! triste vraiment :-(

Oui, il était clair et concis. J'avoue que les jeudis suivants ont été difficiles. J'attendais ce jour avec impatience ainsi que la petite cloche indiquant que le tuto de Jan était paru 😩 Merci de m'avoir permis d'échanger quelques mots en souvenir de Jan.

I've tried many times to export as PDF but it won't. I scan my art in TIFF format then I manipulate the images on GIMP and try to export to PDF but it fails every time.
