Gina Bachauer plays Beethoven Piano Concerto no 5 (2nd Mvt) 

On 22 August 1976 at the Herodes Atticus Theatre, Athens, Gina Bachauer played on the rehearsals with the Washington Symphony Orchestra and Antal Dorati to perform there on the same evening Beethoven Piano Concerto no 3. Late that afternoon Miss Bachauer got a serious heart attack and died. Few days earlier she had had already problems with her heart durning the flight from New York to Paris on her way back from her concerts in the North America.
Gina Bachauer played several times this Beethoven's "Emperor Concerto" in London at the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Her last performance of the Concerto in London took place on 20 November 1975 at the Royal Festival Hall with Eduardo Mata and the Philharmonia Orchestra - only nine months before her untimely death.
