EJ has always been better, he had character development throughout season 1, he was very misunderstood back then. He felt bad for his previous decisions, held himself accountable, apologized, changed his behavior, then did nice things. While Ricky was actively trying to homewreck/ruin Nini and EJ’s relationship. And Ricky has many times where he unnecessarily disrespected somebody (mostly Nini, like at the end of Thanksgiving, then when she brought it up in the next episode, he took no accountability and said he wasn’t sorry).
Since these two plotted together to get their roles and when E.J. bought Gina the plane ticket, I’ve shipped these two. I’m really enjoying their development. Every time they’re in a scene together, it gets even more cute. The way E.J. was looking at Gina when she was asleep and he put the Duke jacket on her was so darn cute. I also really liked the scene when Gina told E.J. what she sees in him and he is a good guy. I think Gina likes E.J. now because she said “I” and then changed to “we.” She was saying what she sees in him. My heart. I think these two are perfect for each other. E.J. was there for Gina when she was going through a hard time and Gina sees what a great guy E.J. is. They complete each other. That’s all there is to it. E.J. likes Gina so much. He can’t stop smiling when he’s around her. 🥰💕
I had mixed views about Ej and Gina but after seeing the latest episode and putting all the pieces together, I’m all about this ship. From the beginning, they both started as two people trying to change a story they didn’t even belong in and then they finally realize, it didn’t work because they belong in each other’s story.
Rini always gonna be my favourite ship. But now that Rini’s most likely over (I really hope it’s not cause it has to be endgame). I’m counting on Portwell to work, since they’re my second fav ship
don't get me wrong i'm a rini stan but i just love how their relationship is new and they don't have any drama that could come back any day, like rini does, every portwell interaction is just so so soo cute
I love how similar EJ and Gina are yet so different at the same time. Idk if anyone agree with this view but i sorta see EJ loving Nini because she's so good and pure and part of him just hoped being with her and being loved by her would make him good too only to realise that it didn't really bring out the best in him. Same with Gina and Ricky... Gina didn't feel like a good person and then Ricky said a few kind things to her that made her feel like she could change and be better and it wasn't hopeless which made her love him because he could see the good in her even when she couldn't see it herself. I think them loving Ricky and Nini made them realise who they want to be as people and it's made them better. But it's going to be each other that's going to inspire them to be the best versions of themselves... to have goals and ambitions but also remain good people.
I'm just thankfull that we can all move on from Rina, they never made sense. I feel like they are so different while both Gina and EJ have similar personalities and kind of the same villain to good guy arc, they're both super energetic and extroverted, and just have so much more in common.
Sorry but i still prefer Rina idk at least to me that’s the cool thing about them and that’s why i ship them so much because they are different and i just think that when a couple share similar personalities the relationship turns out to be boring and plain and eventually you just get tired of it also what i like about Ricky and Gina is that even when they’re so different they still get each other so well and better than anyone else but that’s just my personal opinion and i have to admit that Ej is cute
@@DogLover5014 no i completely agree with u on that but i also think that gina and ej’s personality’s match just enough where they r similar but not exactly alike, i think they compliment each other ;)
Ricky and Gina’s whole relationship is about how much they understand each other/can relate. I feel like if you look at EJ and Gina one dimensionally, you’ll think they’re more similar (since they both started out meaner but are now the nicest people). Ricky and Gina however understand how the other feels, and that is what they both need. Ricky was unable to open up in a healthy way because he wasn’t able to do it with his parents and never saw them do it to one another. While Gina has never had a close relationship before cuz she was always moving. EJ and Gina may not have that same understanding of one another, but I do think how they communicate is valuable, they’d work well together too.
I really hope portwell isn’t a plot device for rina or anything, because I really love these two together and their parallel arcs have been wonderful!!
SAME i actually rlly hope that they use rina as a plot device for portwell in the next episode i think that gina should come to terms with the fact that her and ricky would be toxic as a relationship and that ej is just a better guy for her lol
@@growingupwithdisney i think that they would just have a better time as friends considering that 1 ricky is still very much in love with nini 2 i feel like if they broke up it would be awful bcz then they couldn’t talk to eachother the same way anymore 3 tbh i just like them better as a friendship :) also what i think makes portwell so great is they have very similar storylines but they r so different and although that could be an issue, especially as we saw in this most recent episode, they r starting to get to know each other, so they have an understanding of each other, and to be quite honest with u that’s my fav type of couple so yeah i would love to see them expand on this ship i’ve shipped since the homecoming episode the chemistry is honestly what did it for me and then in episode 10 of s1 that look she gave ej just said it all 😮💨😮💨

Tim showed that flashback to show the audience that Gina and Ricky still haven't spoken about it, he shows that flashback as a sign that theres still an unresolved thing between Ricky and Gina and that they are still going to talk and in all honesty I dont think Ricky knew Gina was confessing to him, because that boys oblivious
I'm so scared to get invested with them...Like they'd be really cute, but I feel like it's a plot device and if I care too much I'll be heartbroken. I'm still a little iffy on how it's going to work if EJ is literally going to college, but if their parents are cool with it, then I'm fine with it.
As of right now we don’t know if E.J. is going to college after high school or not but we do know he isn’t going to Duke even though his dad made some calls to make Duke change their mind. I think if he chooses to go to college he will probably go local so he isn’t far away from his family and friends at East High Drama Club. There is literally a college down the street from East High in real life it’s 4 minutes away from East High it’s the University of Utah. E.J. said he doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life I really hope someday he finds whatever makes him happy in whatever he decides to do for living. He probably will take a gap year to figure out what he wants to do with his life and help Miss Jenn with the Drama Club.
anyone else just worried that this will end up in EJ's heartbreak again...? they're obviously not gonna drop the ricky/gina thing even if it's in the future, but for now they seem to be writing toward portwell getting together. i love these two but i'm not gonna be happy if they're a plot device and gina just throws him away as soon as ricky's single and ready to mingle. :>
Let's hope not! That would be really dumb from the writers if they ended up being just a plot device because they've been building up that relationship since season one..
I’m so excited to see more of them since Rini is making me sad. I didn’t ship EJ and Gina before but I think they did things right and now I’m finally actually interested in another couple other than Rini. Cant wait 😍

for people saying that this ship is random…it is 100% not haha the writers have DEFF planned this from the start with the plane ticket, homecoming, small interactions, similar character motives, similar character development, etc plus, whenever sofia and matt do press, they are always paired up with one another
I think gina and Ricky are going to get together (it’s inevitable like they’ve been hinting at it for ages ) but gina realises she likes EJ alot more than she originally thought and it’s gonna end up with portwell
He's just a guest in the next episode, you can see him in the sneak peek. Apparently he's someone Gina used to know so maybe an ex boyfriend or something

Sleeping at Last is such a nice band, so emotional and they always put a smile on my face! And this edit was so so so nice and beautiful! At least I finally see Gina hahaha And these two are also cuties!
