the fandom is so dead but i wish it wasn't, i found the ginga anime in 2017 and i still come back to it sometimes because of the massive impact it had on my life and especially hobby of drawing😭😭 I really want to buy and read the Mangas some day
I watched Weed first as a kid (This and Akira were my first anime), and then Gin later on. I won't lie, I'm still nostagically biased towards Weed, but I do admit that Gin was MUCH better
I was looking for an anime about weed and after stumbling across this i got hyped and thought "Weed anime really exists cant wait to watch" and of course got hugely disappointed after seeing that this is not about weed and later discovering that anime about weed dont exist
Furthermore, I think they're doing a coined phrase dreamworks mentioned and that's "Pushing the limits of the characters' capabilities". THere are somethings done on there that are very possible. Kishus are actually known to jump high and climb trees. My friend in japan owns one and he does it just so he can be with his master. So it's like you take the characters and see how you can work with them. I think the creator did a very good job conveying this idea.
@shadowhexogram my first reaction too. lol but the more I thought the more I realized A)Dogs usually leave their mouths hanging open B)When you really think about it, American cartoons do some weird things with animals too. So if dogs can run casinos or lions can ride ostriches then why can't dogs do spin attacks?
Not at all actually. Despite them drawing them very realistic, it maintains the traditional anime appearance that gives it a bit of a wacky appeal. And there are a LOT of animations that attempt to make themselves look serious but only contradicts with the action. For instance the creators of lion king and spirit: SOTC worked hard to make their animals look real but with some flare. I mean, eyebrows??? Lips??? and the things they do are beyond the animal capabilities.But it works
