Recipe below. Only 4 all natural ingredients in this ginger and turmeric candy recipe. These candies gave me effective temporary relief in addition to medication when I was sick with a cough and cold.
The turmeric is an antiseptic and helps with immunity and inflammation. Ginger is warming to the chest and helps to temporarily relieve a cough, control mucus, nausea and sense of taste.
I have used maple syrup to avoid refined sugar.

Ginger & Turmeric Candy by Aasai Rasai
Ingredients:
8 oz Maple Syrup (or any natural syrup)
3 tablespoons milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1 teaspoon ginger powder (for mild heat or 2 teaspoons for strong flavor)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Method:
1. In heavy pan, heat the maple syrup for 2 minutes.
2. Mix together ginger, turmeric and milk until smooth and add it to pot of syrup
3. Bring to boil while stirring until it reaches soft ball stage (240F)
4. our into flat tray lined with parchment paper
5. Cool completely and cut or break in to pieces, as desired.
6. Store in air tight container or the candy will become hard.
