@@stevercarter5317 may I ask why? In my opinion traditional meals are absolutely able to be modernized or westernised, they just are no longer traditional. Absolutely nothing wrong with an upgrade, especially since tastebuds evolve.
@@SassMate lol it’s just that he comes from a very strong culture especially when it comes to food. Italians love and adore their traditions and hate when people modify them because it almost feels like disrespect. Honestly after taking Italian for two years (freshman and sophomore) it kinda wore off on me lol

Exactly I think they had a clip of her saying the same about another dish he made by saying if you add ham it would be a Carbonara. And he got so pissed.
@@willjoyce5013 they are the same shape different name - stewie griffin. Ham and guanciale is made of cured pork so just because the butcher gives it a fancy name and charge more doesn't make it better.
Being an European I understand the Italians. Appreciating and accepting the simple and healthy foods is the way to go. Overcompensate a simple dish makes you not wanting to make it yourself. The important thing is to make a healthy/simple dish for yourself and be able to enjoy it.
This is why all famous European dishes come from immigrants to America 😂😂 We know how to mix cuisines instead of just making stuff the same way for 500 years because it was all the peasants had access to.
They thought of it. They just have a system that’s the result of centuries of success and failure. I quite agree cheese and garlic don’t taste very good together. They’re both strong flavors that only conflict with eachother. They don’t harmonize in any way. It’s just loud flavors for the sake of being loud.
My mother was a villager in central Italy. A group of people fast disappearing in this modern world. Her pizzas used three ingredients other than the dough; parsley, garlic and tomatoes. My friends couldn’t get enough of them.

He's only defensively Italian, can you see the difference? And someone is asking you to do something you don't want to do or be something that isn't being your authentic self, why wouldn't you object?
Are you kidding me? They are the most overbearing arrogant people on earth. They don't want to change a thing because they think their tradition is so perfect. That's why the traditional home cooked meal in Italy is so bland and boring. The West has taken their cousine and perfected it but they are still stuck in the past.
