"Powerfull People" is still my preferred Gino Vanelli album after 50 years. Still have the copy I bought in 1974 at age 12... Produced by Herp Albert, the recording and production is superb.
Sushmita: it was during my College Years in the 70's when I heard this for the first time at a 'disco' and was totally taken away... everyone on the dance-floor enjoying the beats... the good old days - clean fun - no drugs - no fights - will never be the same... listening in September '24 'Powerful People' ❤ 🎉 ❤
Gino Vannelli always had the best drummers on board. Being a drummer himself he was very demanding. Joe Vannelli is simply amazing. With his synth basses he has been the basis of this energetic and electrifying Vannelli sound.
saw him also in the 70's in Rhode Island. Used all keyboards except the drummer ( Lear ? ) and the big Jamaican (?) guy on percussion.Concert started out with the curtain closed, then slowly opening all the while playing Love of my Life, Great performance, and a treasure to remember.
This is an important story of excellent logic, wisdom and prioritization, including the appropriate connecting necessity of a motorcycle. The album needed to be transported and in best style and long distance in haste. As motorcyclist and particular fan of those 70s albums, I can attest to the friend's overall decision making. More people need to know this story.
Saw him w Joe in ~1991 at the Ritz NYC…incredible…a bunch of us went to show as a touring Band that has a Grammy nomination under our belts …we were BLOWN AWAY by Gino and his Band.
At Green Valley Ranch Casino? If so, I was there, too! Incredible concert! Took me back to my college days where I first saw Gino on stage with a full orchestra. I thought he was the most beautiful and sexiest man I had ever seen. My mouth was open the entire night! I was enthralled. LOL.
I hadn't thought of this song in years. Was telling someone they had to move today and this song came to my mind. Now I remember why I really loved Gino's music!
Fantástico! 🎙 Vai completar 70 anos(16/06/2022), e continua nos presenteando com suas performances, belas músicas, e criações, um artista único... Fabuloso! O Brasil te ama Gino Vannelli 💖💕🇧🇷💕💖
Saw him live in concert in 1979 . Have tickets to go see him in Clearwater in March and that's when the shutdown occurred. But it's all good ain't giving up my tickets!
Saw Gino in the 80s in Raleigh and then in Birmingham 2000. One of my favs! he and Joe are jsut so in sync. Also, Graham Lear on kit is JUST FLAWLESS~~~!! :)
Let the man do his dances, let him be .... these are the 80s remember; many artists had their strange little dances those days.... Love the jazziness of the music, though
Holy shit! You picked out the best parts! It’s like the drums and vocals prime me for that keyboard synth I just HAVE to hear!! The eargasms are just about incapacitating! 🎶😇🎵🔥❤️🔥
Great Drummer , Great Pocket. His Solo had some David Garibaldi Phrasings going on. Very musical Solo!!! I had just read, that Enzo Passed away. Thats very sad to hear, may he Rest in Heavens
Born in ‘71. I remember my mobile. I have seen the civilized world birth new and never before seen. 2021 artist cannot and would dare not…I miss Neil BTW.
jjsiegal, thanks for saving me the trouble of looking up who the drummer was, wow! Enzo was amazing and this has to be the performance from the 'Live In Montreal' tour album. Saw this same line up on the last date of this tour at Prince's club Glam Slam in Minneapolis. Outstanding performance to say the least!
That young drummer looks very much like a Vannelli - either Ross' or Gino's son, but his profile and hair is reminiscent of a young Gino. Very very good live performance all round. Have been a fan since the beginning, much love xo
