ON THE THIRD DAY, WE FINALLY FOUND SOME BIG MATURE PLANTS. Y'ALL WHEN YOU THINK YOU CAN'T GO ANY FURTHER, JUST KEEP WALKING, BECAUSE THAT OL BIG MOUNTAIN MONSTER COULD BE JUST AROUND THE CORNER 🙋♂️
Ginseng is a special plant of our eastern forests. There's nothing quite like it, and it is a really pretty plant. I love to find it with long seed stalks, and with that beautiful golden yellow color. I remember finding it while squirrel hunting one afternoon, so I propped my rifle against a hickory tree, whittled out a diggin' stick, and commenced to digging. I filled all the pockets on that army jacket. I actually found a 5 prong at the edge of a little rise, and below it were 11 four prongs, 15 three prongs, and no telling how many little three's and two's. That big plant had a root that measured thirteen inches. I counted 28 notches on the growth stalk! It was dark before I realized I had to go find my rifle, so I hiked back out and picked up my gun on the way. That is a special memory for me. I left lots of plants un-dug and haven't been back in 14 years. I wonder if the ginseng still there?!?

I just found a big monster patch here in the foothills of North Carolina and simply cannot believe it. I asked a few old timers if that is really what I found. Lol It seemed too good to be true. Thought it was some Virginia creeper or something other than sang, but it is the rral deal. 👍 Alot of young ens, more 4s than you can count, alot of 5s, and several 6s 💪. Still hard to believe. Honey hole of hawgs my friend. Only been digging 5s and 6s to be honest. 👍 Now for the most important part, not to dig young ens, and pray that it is unseen by these thieves of todays world and be responsible and even plan on taking some 4s and trying to set them out at a different location so that I may propagate and cultivate another dig site closer to where I can better keep an eye on it. I subscribed because I can tell you have a real passion. You'd be doing it even if it didn't pay. I use the metaphor of the woods being 'church' for the ones with a conviction and passion. Me and several buddies of mine growing up used to travel the southeast looking for snakes. We all had a burning passion for just being on the hunt and being really out there 'in it' and giving audience to natures poetry and teachings. Ginseng has always been on my periphery and I knew that in good time I would get to digging and just recently the passion for ginseng started to erupt in me and I'm at the start of what I feel and hope will be a long journey. I don't know any locals that dig or really have any experience at all but like other passions I've had and worked at in my life that a good and wise teacher was key so I am glad to stumble across your channel. Hello, great video but my tip for your video is stop using slow-motion effect, just pan the camera very very slow. You will use slow-motion if you have a stabilizer. Slow-motion you used in this video make your video more blurred
