Ren is siiiiick 😂 Now that you have heard his frustrations from being misdiagnosed for years channeled into his music, I think you should go back and check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It is an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching but so beautiful. Also a completely different side of Ren.
Couple notes. You don't HAVE to pause with REN. He is against the copyright shit. If you do pause, please back up 10 seconds. His flow is so important.
Did you you know Ren was in a band called the big push check out I shot the sheriff road to Zion hip-hop the version where he has on the red braces, but more fun ones the Ren rollercoaster continues 😊 👍👍
Would love for you to geek out over production if you want! You might really enjoy Ren’s interview with Elizabeth at The Charismatic Voice. It will really give you insight into his story and his character. But he also talks about how he records and gets such great sound on the live one takes and busking. That’s around minute 48 in the 2.5 hour interview. But fair warning she does play clips of songs scattered throughout the interview, songs you’ll probably want to react to in the future. Can’t wait for you to do more Ren reactions! You definitely need to do the Money Game trilogy! Just be sure it’s the lyric video part 2. And Ren is great at serious lyrics over a “fun” beat. I recommend Power. He wrote it after a bad split with management and he just wanted to do something fun. As usual, he made the beat, wrote, recorded, produced, etc but did it in only 2 weeks (ish)!
I think I am going to start to do some second round “deep dive” reactions/commentary of the videos that I watch for the first time on here, that way I will have a chance to thoroughly listen, analyze and geek out on the tech side
Chalk Outlines shows his vocal skills along with how well he can duet with someone else, even someone as vocally skilled as Chinchilla. Then go for something like Illest of Our time, for modern Rap, along with the visuals he weaves in.
Yes! its a great beat on this one! He makes almost all his own beats (apart from the "retakes") and mixes everything himself as well. Get your dork on! We love it! Talk about the engineering as much as you like! 🥰
As @LadyGX wrote, this is one of his album songs he didn't wrote the music for, just did some remixing. Others are Lost all Faith, Love Musik pt 4 and Down on the Beat. I don't mind as it's equally hard to write lyrics to another person's beats, although all these songs have a pretty straightforward song structure. He didn't get an exclusive publishing licence (which I believe he could've easily afforded cos these independent "beat sellers" aren't very expensive) so others are still free to create songs with the very same background tracks.
Ren actually started by making beats, but he lived in a small village and couldn't find a singer, so he taught himself to sing and just kept expanding his skills as needed. If you like the beat of this, I still suggest "Power" so you get to see his videographer, Samuel Perry-Falvey, and hear a more upbeat Ren. Ren also did a rap remix of an Australian DJ/producer, Fisher's "Losing It" beat that you might like. Or try Ren's original, "The Hunger" to show off some of his rap. Or "What You Want" for his retro rap tribute. If you want to hear Ren singing instead of rapping, his live duets with the artist Chinchilla are incredible - sad, but incredible - "How to Be Me" or "Chalk Outlines". That'll also lead you to another rising star, Chinchilla. You could look for his busking duet with Sam Tompkins - "Earned It/Man's World/Falling" or some of his busking with his band The Big Push. When you're ready to get back into social commentary, the "Money Game" trilogy (do the lyric video for "Money Game 2") is something to behold. Money Game 3 is his first video with a budget over £1,000. Both #1 and #3 are with his longtime friend and visual collaborator, Samuel Perry-Falvey. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I've become almost as big a fan of the visuals as I have of the music. Although these are a trilogy, they aren't quite as connected as "The Tales of Jenny & Screech". You could do all three as one reaction or you could break it up into three reactions. There's so much more and different styles from Ren, I could keep going.
No, it's my third time here and now I'm gonna press that subscribe button. Do the whole Ren rabbit hole by any means, but I'd also like to see you react to Jinjer. Pisces for start.
Great reaction! Sooo subscribing. I see the RENegade family has already found you! Welcome to RENation; so very pleased to have a new baby RENegade in the family. Looking forward to seeing you react to other artists as well.
Have fun on the Ren rabbit hole. Check out his older stuff too when you have time. 11 years ago his band Truck the Fox, song - The Mash Up. Also, The Big Push, song - Xbox Marijuana. Others have mentioned The Big Push, there are several good videos of them "Busking" in Birmingham, (Street performances). Lots of variety and Ren on electric guitar.
Did we mention that each one is different from the previous one? Lolll The only thing that you can expect from Ren is that is going to be good and different 😀
If you notice when the girl is taking to Ren in the video, the beat is very predominant in the mix making it difficult to hear what she is saying, exactly like when you are anxious and someone is talking to you, but your mind is talking over your conversation at the same time..
Another great reaction from you, enjoying the new channel and seeing your sub count go up so quickly. Keep up the good work, tossing Harry Mack Omegle Bars as a potential future reaction.
Thank you…and this is such a wonderful surprise with how the channel is growing, thank you for being on the journey with me, and will add it to the rapidly growing list😅😉
I enjoy watching DICODEC reactions as he is a sound engineer and explains songs from that viewpoint. You should just let loose and get your geek on if you want to. We could all learn from you. I just know what I like but, DICODEC and I am sure yourself can explain WHY I like what I hear, some of the tricks involved 😊
I think it would be funny as shit if you came in wearing a formal dress for your next reaction!😂 You’re doing a great job so far Gina! Looking forward to your next reaction of Ren! Happy holidays!
LMAO…hey you never know, there might be random videos in the future where I do exactly that, just for the hell of it..or wearing some sort of costume🤣😋
Don't need to explain clothing. For me if I find something that is both extremely comfortable and durable I may get a few of the exact same style. Sometimes different colours/ prints because certain colours can help me hack into my emotional/ psychological state. But comfort above all else. Have a friend who's fairly new getting into one aussie brand i love, and it's hilarious how often we're wearing the exact same style & print. Hilarious to both be wearing the same colourful print pants, and by chance both in a vintage Bowie tee. For asked a few times what company that awesome uniform was for😅😂
I would love to hear your observations of the audio and whatnot on these videos - in other words, hearing your expertise in how these songs are made. Seems like your skills and background make you unique! And thus a perfect fit for "teaching" reactions. My 2 cents...thanks for the reaction!
Thank you! I do want to do more of this and I think what I may need to do, with songs I have heard for the first time on video, is do a second deep dive video, later so that I can have a chance thoroughly listen/analyze and do more commentary on the audio tech side
thank you for continuing to react and support my favourite artist ever love your reactions subscribed if you get a chance checkout Rens band the big push sending big love from the UK ❤❤❤

For a good selection of Ren's music check out chalk Outlines live, the song Fire, the red suspender version of I shot the sheriff/Road to zion/Hip Hop by his band the Big Push Great to see a new person radiate to his amazing art.
Another banger reaction glad your loving the music I know it can be intense also you should check out Electric Call boy We Got The Moves its an amazing band from Germany I believe dont worry the sing in english but I think you will be blown away. You should also check out some of Rens Heavy and I mean real heavy songs like chalked outlines, Su!clde, and Freckled angels. Love you your reactions you are amazing and I hope you are having an amazing day.
I think the first song I heard was we got the moves BAM instant fan I love there ability to start off with a good beat to destroy everything music lol @@ginxreacts
There are tracks of Rens that you have to sit and absorb and focus on and that is what you are doing. Then there are tracks like this that actually can dual up as in your playlist. Only problem with this (and Animal Flow) is they're bloody dangerous to have on while driving. Jus sayin. ps: just glad I'm not on video. I have plenty of clothes... all of them identical. Not because I've got some kind of 'culture' i'm aligning to but because I'm a boring sod. 😆
Please, don't worry about your "wardrobe". Please. True reactor fans are jsut here for THAT. Of course I know you want more than just "real reaction fans". . I'm just saying that I don't thin you should worry about that crap. You have a great personality for this sort of thing. If you do more Ren, I will likely subscrbe. (Or lots of 80s stuff LOL)
Hehe, oh I can tell already…this one just seemed to slap me in the face a little more directly 😅…and also is only the 5th song of his that I have heard so far, I have many more Ren messages to discover
Ooh! there were 111 comments when I posted this and 799 subscribers. I got to be # 800. Cool! Also, I love your smile and your beautiful teeth. That being said. Happy New Year and may this be a great year for you and your viewers as I know it will be for me. I couldn't find the Heart emojis so here are some Sick Boi Pig Emoji's. 🐷🐷🐷🐷😅😅😂😂
Yes! I do get to be more mindful of this in the moment. It is easy for me to do commentary of production when it is something I have heard many times, but I get to make sure to dig into in the moment on these songs I haven’t heard yet!
@@ginxreacts so, something I’ve been scared to do, but maybe you might consider, is a “second take”. I haven’t found any reactors going back again. REN can be a bit much to take in on first listen. A bit about me. I’m a high functioning autistic artist and musician. I’ve always understood more about art than I could put into words. It takes me time to process things. I completely understand how a first view can be overwhelming. I’d like to see a deeper dive. I like your reactions and your consistent wardrobe. Sorry you felt the need to explain it. Thank you for your response. Keep up the good work!
@@ginxreacts Never pull yourself down, just you worry about being great at what you do and get successful at it.... then other people will pull you down for free, it's great this world we live in. lol
I have a lot of favourite Ren song's, but one that sticks in my mind constantly, which I think you would love is..... "Do you Believe" The chorus is sampled from a Melanie Safka song of the same title, I think you'd like that one as well
