Your film quality and editing is superior to so many other vloggers out there. Most videos out there seem very...gray in palette, very flat and crumbly with no sense of flow and atmosphere (or else they're like some Adderall-fuelled music video, saturated yet empty). I enjoy your strong aesthetic vision, beautiful capturing of atmosphere and gorgeous crystal clear colour and sound. Your gear must be expensive but you're patently exploring, experimenting and working really competently with it. Gorgeous videos. I'm thinking Ralph's the one responsible for the stunning quality of the visuals? Team effort, but just wanted to give some props to the technical wizard behind these beautiful videos. Much appreciated! Love the lingering shots, the detail of price tags and other aspects of daily exploring which so many other vloggers completely overlook in their trend-happy, generic videos.
Thank you so much for your kind comment ❤️ While we both split video footage duties, the beautiful editing credit rightfully goes to my beautiful wife Sam. Her keen eye for clipping and stitching together a video is second to none, with my music scoring only tying it up in the end. Again, thank you for making our day. We're returning to Japan this spring so that should be another fun video for all of us to enjoy 🌸
@@RalphSam Brilliant! I look forward to more crystal clear, richly atmospheric footage to keep me inspired enough to continue working overtime and not spending my savings before my own trip back later this year. Thanks guys!!
I love your vlog 💕💕💕 When I was a student at Tokyo University of the Arts about 30 years ago, Ginza was an exciting city with hundreds of contemporary art galleries, a mix of luxury brand boutiques and art galleries. Today, there are only a few art galleries in Ginza. As you may already know, the Okuno Building (Ginza 1-9-8) is photogenic and wonderful. Futaba Zushi (4-10-13 Ginza) is a classic Edo-period style sushi restaurant (no photography allowed inside), loved by Kabuki actors, and recommended for lunchtime.🍣🍵
Absolutely love your recommendations. Makes us excited to visit and explore Ginza again one day. It must have been wonderful to spend time there as a student. Thank you for sharing. 💖 💖💖
Woaaaah had no idea! We were wondering who they were, they had such a cool look to them. Thanks for letting us know. Makes the encounter even more special 💪
Been really enjoying your Tokyo videos! We have similar interests so its been fun to watch. I'm going back to Japan again in a couple months and can't wait. It's been too long.
I like watchin' your videos, how to enjoy your own style in Japan, not following other people to famous places where you have to queue for 1 or 2 hours to eat at the restaurant. salute 👏
Kurokawa Onsen has some nice outdoor baths by a river which is pretty magical. Mt Aso is pretty unique too. I would say you need a car if you want to get the most out of Kumamoto.@@RalphSam
As always…. Amazing video ….. very chilling to watch…. I use to think that Ginza is for few hours only …. But now I can see , that for people who love to chill and shop and enjoy the day ….. Ginza can be a whole day destination. Gotta tweak my itinerary again guys 😅.
Soooo impressed by your framing and editing and the cool things you showed us 😍✌🏽 May I ask how you guys do your color correction ? do you use a LUT ? id love to have the same on my videos that i’ll be doing in Tokyo Much love ❤
Thank you so much for saying that! Honestly this is straight from our Samsung phones haha. We don't color grade our videos, but flattered people seem to think so. 😊
Instantly fell with your channel so I auto-subscribed in the middle of watching, haha. Can you share where you stayed at? I missed it yata haha. Thank you for taking us with you 🎉😊
I absolutely love your videos. I’ve been binging all night since I found you. Do you mind if I ask what film camera and film you use for your pics at @2:59 ? Thank you and keep up the awesome work
@8:30 ... this is Wako department store, it is first tier but Mitsukoshi across the street is lower level ... very nearby is Ginza Motoki (where I buy so much of my clothing) ... hmmm ... I think you should have tried Kimuraya bakery, it is really yummy ... and I buy lots of stationary from Itoya ... hahaha! Ginza gets utterly destroyed in the newest Godzilla movie ! ...there is a tiny kimono store in this neighborhood which serves the very high end bar hostesses here, I went because my girlfriend needed to rent a kimono last month.
been watching your videos for the past weeks, looking forward to your new travel plans yay do you guys happen to have any recommendations for a newbie film camera user ? i've been searching about it but still confused, thank you so much :-)
sam my girl! where is your amazon wishlist lol we need to get you a handheld tripod immediately!!! (just recently subbed and i loveeeeeeeeeee your content!) enjoy japan!
hey! im trying to get into photography and so i was wondering what camera you guys use? or a specific lens? also, is there a camera you would recommend for documenting trips? thanks! 🩷
@@RalphSam That's Great. I'm a video editor and will help you edit them for you. So you can save your time as well.I can share my portfolio too.Let me know we can connect (:
enjoyed the video... just had a question re: tax refund-- do you have to bring your passport to get it? and do they always put tax on everything and then you have to go and then you get the tax back later (like in cash?). confused how that works? thank you!!
Hii there! Yes, you need to bring your passport with you to get the tax refund. Whenever you purchase something worth ¥5000 and above, you are qualified to get the tax amount back in cash. Usually there is a tax refund counter. Unlike other countries where you get the tax refund at the airport. Hope that helps!
