Girêsîra - Kurdish Song

A really fun Kurdish song I fell in love with--I'm honestly not sure what the lyrics are about for this one and I only used a third of them. What interests me with this piece is purely the groove and the instrumentation--Anatolian Kurds often play the bağlama in an almost Rock n' Roll kind of way, and I naturally included the Kurdish tanbour along with the bağlama. Overall, this arrangement evokes mostly an Anatolian Kurdish sound, very reminiscent of Turkish music but with a distinctly Kurdish touch, especially with the sound of the tanbour.

Thanks for this sharing. Friend Baglama is the Turkish word for the Saz. Kurds especially from North tend to combine the Saz, Tanbur, Duduk, Kemence, Davul& Zurna, Daf and Bagpipe in their music. If anyone noticed Kurdish music often has a horse gallop like background sound to it.

As a Kurdish person i never heard tanbur, kemençe or bagpipe in a Kurdish song. But it could be about my region if you can name some of them it would be interesting to listen a Kurdish song with kemençe and bagpipe.

@@aresatlasdurmus9656 How can you as a Kurdish person never heard tanbur or Kemence/bagpipe in Kurdish songs. Makes me kind of wonder. Kemence is literally the go to local istrument in Kermanshah, Mardin and Sirnak. Tanbur is literally in almost every Kurdish song. Bagpipes are local in Hawraman, Agri and Hakkari. watch for Hakim Lokman Ez te binim. Or some of the works by Kayhan Kalhor. Or just type "Kurdish Tanbur" .

@@serdar3578 Actually my Kurdish music repertoire is limited by the area I came from. I don't know that much song in Kurdish. In my home area Malatya they generally use bağlama,dudduk,zurna or ciftelli. But I shall search for the songs you wrote. Thank you for advice. ( Btw I realised that I know tanbur. I just mixed tanbur and kabak kemane)

This is not Zazaki, it is Northern Kurmanji, the song belongs to the city of Batman/Elih in Northern Kurdistan. Zazaki and Kurmanji are Kurdish languages, they are similar to each other, so it is natural to confuse them.

jerryjonsens The tanbur/tenbur is a different instrument altogether; the smaller instrument you see me playing in the video is the tanbur. The bağlama is a completely different instrument, and it's very much a native Turkish one.
@faryafaraji
@faryafaraji 3 года назад
Gelecek They're the Kurds who live in Turkey. Kurdish music is different depending on what country the community is in-so Kurdish music from Iran will use Iranian instruments and sound more Iranian, and Kurdish music from Turkey will use Turkish instruments much more.
