I understand where you're coming from. This is terrible and it sucks she reached out for help not too soon before she died. But from the officer's point of view, at that point, it was basically only a troubled teen case and there isn't much they can do in those cases. That's a true injustice though, because we don't often think about the child being dangerous to their caretakers only the other way around.

This case is so sad to hear she took her mother's life in a delusional state. My mom also has paranoid schizophrenia and unfortunately it's not always as simple "just get then mental health treatment" it is up to the patient to understand the seriousness of the illness and agree to accept treatment. It's a very difficult situation for everyone involved. The delusions are indistinguishable from reality. My thoughts are with the family

@blueberrypie4321
@blueberrypie4321 6 месяцев назад
@shaniezzo114 thank you for that. Yes, I'm unbelievably relieved to say that we have been blessed in our case. My grandma tried to seek treatment for my mom for many years and I have also tried for as long as I can remember. Now I'm 30 and everything came to a head when one of her delusions lead to her destroying her electrical panel and getting injured. She has been getting treatment for the past year now and finally understands the importance of it. I sleep like a baby every night since. I'm tearing up writing this because it's been such a journey to get to this point including restrainingorders and arrests in order to try and force treatment through those heartbreaking means. I just wish it didn't have to come down to such terrible circumstances to make progress. I'm just so greatful to the lord that our situation has resolved with grace instead of the way others experience.

@blueberrypie4321
@blueberrypie4321 6 месяцев назад
@admiralkaede yes, I agree with you completely. In the video a professional spoke about the significance of schizophrenia and just siad get your loved one treatment. And unfortunately its not that simple. It took me 30 years of taking care of my mom to get her treatment. I was merely trying to explain that the mental health intervention needs to happen much sooner than what the US allows. It shouldn't have to take a major event like this to only start getting treatment after something like this. I believe if you're diagnosed with a major mental illness like schizophrenia some sort if treatment or monitoring should be mandatory not only after a horrible incident occurs. I've had too many horrid experiences in my case with my loved one. I've also read about so many heartbreaking incidents in the Facebook support group I'm in too. It's difficult to get any sort of treatment anywhere in the country and the delusions unfortunately make the patient believe they dont need help and it can't be forced upon them until an incident occurs. It breaks my heart to hear the mothers life was taken in this case. I just feel if the country or each state had more resources, this could've been prevented.

I've been in therapy since age 5, ive only gotten worse so I do hope to see other methods besides just talking (especially if you aren't a talker), overanalyzing, repeating what Is already known comes to fruition. Her explanation, doesn't that show that she was fully aware of what she did? She's making excuses and seems as though she was coherent the entire time. Also, she can't be fully healed. Mental illness are managed, not cured. I don't know, it's weird

Schizophrenia isn't H24, they have moment of lucidity depends of the severity I guess but I knew someone whose brother was schizophrenic, it was like a crisis every few hours if you prefer. He was actually really skilled (my friend used to read his creations to me) in poetry etc, very smart, so i'm not really surprised. The hallucinations though... would make it difficult I imagine. Hope it helps.

She's fully aware now but not at the time. Her mental state was completely different. This may be an inaccurate comparison, but I see it as being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. U display or involve urself in acts or situations that u otherwise wouldn't when ur sober. When ur clean, either things come back to u or someone describes to u wat u had done and u remember. That's how I imagine it to be but of course I could be wrong
