It could likely kill you if it wanted to but it's more likely it would strike and run to keep from getting hurt. That's what I thought, but according to another comment, this cat is old enough to be on its own, so I looked it up, mom kicks them out at about ten months, then they are solitary, and territorial, and only get together to mate. I think it's a close call, mom could still be around.
