I love how each character has their own individual mouth movement style that mocks a certain type of anime. The attention to detail and subtle jokes is what makes this series so great!

This is a joy to watch even after a decade later. The bad voice acting almost feels like the closest thing to conflict in these episodes. One of Egoraptor’s best.

Shi- could be 死(death), as well as other things, but that leaves us with a floating 'n'. Can't have that, as nothing starts with 'n'. Shin could be: 新 (new/neo), 真(truth/reality/genuineness), 芯(core), 心(heart), 信(honesty/trust/faith), 親(intimacy), 神(spirit), 讖(prophecy), 瞋(ill will/ antipathy). That's a lot of different meanings. Wow. That's also ignoring all of the historical readings (Chinese dynasties Xin, Quin, Zhen, Jin) and two constellations. Ken- 剣(sword). Probably sword. other translations are 券(ticket), or 権(authority). Unfortunately, the next part makes no sense (patsu), so we have to use the 'pa' here. Kenpa could be 検波(detection). Or just けんぱ(Hopscotch) Here we can break up the 'Tsubakumatsu' in one of two ways. The first way gives us: Tsubaku - 唾く(to spit) Matsu - could be one of: 待つ(To Wait), 松(Pine Tree), 末(End of something) If we take another path, we get Tsuba - 唾(saliva), 鍔(guard on hilt of a sword, brim/visor). Kuma - 熊(bear), 隈(nook/corner) Tsu - 津(harbour/port, ferry) Either way, we still have hatsu and datsu. Hatsu - Could be one of: 発(Departure/sending), 初(first/new), ハツ(Animal heart-food), 果つ(to be finished/exhausted, to perish) Datsu - Could be one of 脱(de- (as in reversal/removal), 駄津(needlefish) lastly technique has lots of ways of saying it. I'll use 手法 (Shuhou) which is a direct translation of technique, though 方 (kata) might also work (way of ~) We have a few translations we can get from this. You can mix-and-match to make your own, too! 新 検波 唾く 末 初 脱 (手法) Truth Detection Spitting End New Removal (technique) 新 けんぱ 唾く松 果つ 脱 (手法) Neo-Hopscotch Spitting Pine-tree Perishing Reversal (technique) 神検波鍔熊津発駄津(手法) Spirit Detection visor bear ferry departure needlefish (technique) 芯検波唾隈津発脱 (手法) Core Detection saliva corner Harbour Departure Removal (technique) And then, each kanji (those chex-mix letters) has multiple readings, so it's likely these won't actually read as "Shinkenpatsubakumatsuhatsudatsu", since other readings of most of those kanji are preferred. Japanese is weird.

All jokes aside, the character designs are really great. You can instantly tell who and what the character archetypes are supposed to be. It makes me kinda want to see an actual serious shonen show of these characters. Except girl chan. No one needs that.

I like the description: that it's an oldschool, forgotten anime he found in some musty collection somewhere and he's remastering the episodes before posting them on RU-vid so all of us can see the great series that is Girlchan! Lest we miss out on such a classic. Adds flavor. :p

I remember when egoraptor's cartoons were the funniest thing in the whole world to me. I wish animation was more practical in the youtube space and maybe he would've seen the worth in continuing in animation. Glad Arin's been in Hollywood and had success in doing some small time voice work for major shows. but hes evolved past a lot of us. He's cultivated an audience that could give a shit if he ever drew a straight line again. he's making a living though so I guess no one can fault him on that. I just hope he's still enjoying himself in what he does. I'll always miss you egoraptor, for what you were to many of us growing up and what you represented. but I always will wish you the best Arin.

God I love the visual gag when Yusuke talks about how Kobayashi-Sama-San-Chan is his brother and Kenstar just says he sees the resemblance in their eyes and it’s literally a copy paste.
