Yes, The whole Bibidi, Babibi, Buu thing is on purpose. It's a reference to the spell in Cinderella. EVERYTHING in this series is a reference to something. Saiyan names are all vegetable releated (Vegeta=VEGETAble, Kakarot=Carrot, Radditz=Raddish), Namekians are, other than Piccolo and Kami, are just words for snail (Nail who Piccolo fused with is just snail without the S, More the elder that Goku talks to to get Dende is part of the Japanese word for snail, and the rest on Namek follow suit, And Dende is also part of another word that means Snail in japanese). Piccolo is different because in OG DB, when he fought kid Goku, his entire group was named after instruments (Piccolo is similar to an ocarina). Bulma's family is all underwear (Briefs being their last name, a pair of men's underwear. Bulma being bloomers, a type of women's underwear, and Trunks being another word used in parts of the world for boxers, more men's underwear. Following suit, they named these guys after the spell in Cinderella as just a funny reference.
Akira Toriyama loved puns, so its 100% intentional. Basically every name in Dragon Ball is a pun. The saiyans are all vegetables, briefs family are all named after various forms of underwear, etc.
@@ThatGuy-tx4vm He worked as a mangaka writing and illustrating a chapter a week for 15 years straight before finally taking it easy after the end of Dragon Ball. No one who doesn't have drive and is lazy would be able to remain consistent for that duration of time - not to mention he was already a multi-millionaire by the end of Dr. Slump (his series before Dragon Ball) but continued producing chapters for 10 more years, in addition to his many side projects. At times he may have decided to take a short-cut to lessen his workload (e.g. going with a simple design for the Super Saiyan transformation - light hair to avoid having to ink and just adding muscle instead of coming up with something more complex) but I wouldn't say he was at all lazy (despite him joking about it). The reason he chose to use puns when naming his characters come from the fact that Akira Toriyama was a gag manga creator. All of his works before Dragon Ball - any many afterwards - were comedic gag manga. Even Dragon Ball started off as one and by the end during the Buu arc would return to form (he expressed not liking the more serious tone the series had taken with the later half of the Namek arc and the Cell arc and so he wanted to have fun with Buu). So, yes, his puns were 100% intentional.
@@yungsavage4568 Agreed. Or, just misinformed by rumors (like people who keep saying he wanted to end the series with the Cell arc because they've heard it repeated, which is totally false). Although, he would be forgetful at times. He admitted forgetting about Launch - explaining why she hadn't appeared in many arcs of the manga and only made a cameo at the end of the Buu arc (she only appears in the Saiyan arc of the anime because staff at Toei reminded him of her, so he came up with the idea for her scenes with Tien). He also admitted forgetting as the reason kid Trunks and Goten doesn't have tails. And, there were a few other things but it's understandable considering how huge the series is, all of the concepts and characters he had to keep up with, and the fact that he most often wrote and came up with ideas bi-weekly as the story went on, instead of planning everything out like say Oda Eiichiro of One Piece.
The trust they have for Shin is only because he's the Supreme Kai . Kai's aren't evil, their God's of Creations . Their good guys basically . Also Gohan said he felt stronger because he got healed after almost dying . He had got a boost to his power .
@@alinstoian4393 he was one in training and he never became one cause he’s master saw darkness in his heart so it’s still true all supreme Kai aren’t evil
Definitely, Gohan doesn't like fighting, but I think he should have trained a little bit he would have been far better off. Vegeta still would have been stronger than him, but if Gohan reached out to Vegeta after the cell games. And trained with him, at least on the weekends him and Vegeta would have been close in battle power. Vegeta wouldn't have made that comment because he knows how strong Gohan was when he fought Cell. That power has slipped away blown opportunity.
Yes the names are like that on purpose. The great toryiyama loved word play with names and foods. Especially foods. All saiyans are named after vegetables. It was fun to think of and only he could come up with that. Genius
A joke about the Cinderella fairy godmother who casts the spell for Cinderella to go to the ball. But they're version is spelt differently. In Cinderella it's spelt (Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Boo)
Akira Toriyama loved word play. Has Alexis picked up on Saiyan names being a play on vegetables? Kakarot - Carrot, Raditz - Radish, Nappa - Napa cabbage and so forth
Vegeta is right tho. If Gohan kept training in these 7 years after Cell, he would have been in a different league altogether, instead, he got a bit weaker than his fight against Cell. If Gohan is still this strong without training in these peaceful times, imagine him if he kept with his training.
Bibidi, Babidi, Buu. Yes, it is on purpose. Akira Toriyama at time would would have trouble coming up with names for the characters in DBZ. So when in doubt, he'd name them after random things. Like for example, the names of the guys from the Ginyu Force are all named after Dairy products. Or Garlic Jr. and his minions are named after spice products and the fact his minions are called the Spice Boys. As Funny as it sounds, Akira Toriyama makes the names sound simple and yet memorable. Gotta give the dude some credit.
That theme is actually called the Ginyu Transformation theme. It first played when Ginyu switched bodies with Goku. I don't think it played during the battle between Goku and Frieza, but it did play during Namek's destruction.
Vegeta is right though cause Gohan was far more powerful when he fought Cell but he stopped training throughout the 7 years of peace so his SS2 isn’t as strong as it was when Gohan was a child
Yes. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother was in on it the whole time. You know whet else is funny? In Cinderella it's spelled Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo. Akira Toriyama kept that spelling in the Japanese version. It's the dub that changed them to Bibidi-Babidi-Buu. I guess the localizers didn't get the reference either.
nah vegeta ain't no hater on gohan. you find out later that vegeta actually holds gohan in very high regards. he believes gohan is the strongest amongst him goku and gohan. he even says if gohan just trained he would easily surpass he and goku without question he has a small bit of pride when talking about how strong gohan can be
Garlic jr being one of her favs is crazy but women are crazy…. My girls favourite marvel villain is WHIPLASH….. I can’t convince her how bad he is 🤷🏾♂️😂🤣
Damn... Gohan becoming ssj2 against Kibito is iconic as hell. " Do you want to see super saiyan, or should I take it up to the next level", and his friends' reactions "Gohan is the Gold Warrior and the Great Saiyaman?!" were iconic.
Bro I just don’t understand how they held down ssj2 gohan like that. He should’ve easily broken out. And i know for sure perfect cell is escaping that too
I always blame supreme Kai for Majin Buu reawakening everyone can say he did it for a reason but I say he did it for the dumbest reason and that's why the planet Earth got blown up by kid Buu 😂 later on
I said it once and I'll say it again it was such a missed opportunity Vegeta called out Gohan for his lack of power. Because he surpassed him easily Because during 7 years of Peace Vegeta has been training Non-Stop and Gohan not so much. I just think it was such a missed opportunity to Gohan should have reached out to Vegeta. And let him know that I understand that I have to be strong and I think Vegeta definitely would have return the favor because Gohan was the strongest at that point. Vegeta would have benefited from training with Gohan they both would have pushed each other he can still go to school. Sneak out at night or train during the weekends with Vegeta he probably wouldn't be as strong due to the lack of training in the past 7 years. But I don't think his power would have dropped off too much to have Vegeta responded here.
How so? How else were they supposed to locate Babidi? Keep in Supreme Kai thought the Z fighters were weak at this point. Dabura has demon energy so they can't sense any of Babidi's crew.
@@kevintyrrell7409 Well, clearly Supreme Kai figured out an alternative in the future timeline, because neither Gohan nor the other Z fighters were around to steal energy. Oddly enough, Supreme Kai managed to be more useful in that particular timeline.
Supreme Kai to me is just a waste to me i under his logically on try to location bobidi but yet he did nothing to stop Yamu and Spopovich from giving Gohan energy to Bobidi so really he's responsible for things yet to come
Sooo, Videl seen Goten and Trunks transform and she's still surprised that Gohan can do it too? She really couldn't be that idiotic, coukd she? Like come on.
Bruh Vegeta is not a hater 🙄🤦♂️He’s telling the truth! Gohan got weak af! Vegeta and Goku are way stronger than Gohan! Just watch after few episodes after! And you owe Vegeta a apology! 😮💨
god the dub is so bad, they screwed up the Mr Satan joke after seeing her Videl fly away, he says in the Japanese version "I should have grounded her" it is corny but funny all the same. Also the characters that are named here "Bibidi, Babidi, Boo" is from Disney's film Cinderella when the ferry Godmother creates the dress and carriage for Cinderella.
