I understand that but still if a villain like Frieza was to come for Goku, you think he would just leave because Goku was dead? No he would destroy or take over the planet and sell it
@@gamesmoney1025 This is with assumption as Cell has been defeated completely Goku knew well in hand that the Earth can be protected by Gohan. Goku knew Frieza wasn’t dead hence him saying he would used IT if needed.
@@gamesmoney1025 i think hea meant when Goku arrived on earth after namek/yadrat. Goku knew about frieza and could have used IT any moment (like he did in the original timeline) but he wanted to "see" (sense) what Trunks is capable of
It's similar to Marvel, how the infinity stones caused mountains of grief for Earth because it broadcasted to the rest of the universe that Earth was a superpower when really it was just a handful of powerful people running around on an otherwise primitive planet.
16:35 to be fair you can't blame him for deciding this at the time. From Goku's perspective, All these bad things keep happening and coming to earth because of him. He rather stay dead than risk the chance of all his friends and family being killed because of him. The Future Trunks special kinda showed this
@DJK1NGGaming Who did? You with dbz reruns in usa? Lmao the manga in Japan just kept going. This is one of the biggest misinformations about this series and it’ll never die
@@DJK1NGGaming No we didn't. The last chapter of the cell saga (and I wrote a long reply on their last video) release 27 April 1993. Then there was 2 weeks holiday for golden week, and the next chapter (start of the buu saga) released 11 May 1993. Dragon ball chapters released weekly becuaee that's how they were back then, and the schedule is unbroken
@@trigger8221 You do realize I am talking about in America. Where we had no knowledge of the manga or anything else. Watching on Toonami we had no knowledge of DBZ continuing after Cell Saga.
Goku is choosing to remain dead to protect everyone. It does seem like he is a magnet for trouble on Earth, so by not being there, there’s no reason for enemies to hurt other people looking for him. Gohan may not like it, but Goku is doing it to protect him, because he loves him. What father would do anything less?
@@robbiemedica2652 no its not he tought about it for a while cause the one that brought it up was bulma in the series some time before that episode🤷🏾♂️
@@robbiemedica2652 You speak as if has been consistently selfish when this is the FIRST thing he has ever asked for. Him training Gohan was a necessity and even if Gohan didn't want it, he lives in a universe where the world will always be in danger because of their powers.
It's a deeply flawed reason. He said all of the bad guys came to Earth and put everybody in danger because of him, but it's a flawed argument. If Goku wasn't there, Pilaf would have taken over the Earth. If Goku wasn't there, the Red Ribbon Army would have created an army that controlled the world. If Goku wasn't there, Tien would have become a ruthless and dangerous mercenary. If Goku wasn't there, King Piccolo would have been King of the entire Earth. If Goku wasn't there, Frieza's army would have come to Earth eventually and conquered it anyway. When Cell was killed, any possible danger Goku's presence presented the earth had been defeated. It's even more stupid that his friends and even Gohan accepted this. There is no reason to go along with Goku's very flawed logic. It was a poorly written way to write Goku out of the story and I can understand why Alexis doesn't like it. A more believable reason for Goku not returning would be his thirst for a fight puts the Earth at risk. He would let villains survive if it meant he could fight with them again. As much of hero Goku has been, his thirst for a fight trumps all, and that is bad for the Earth and his friends.
@@hermityt1663 or how about he actually earned it lmao. If a hero saves your planet multiple times and literally asked nothing for it except to keep living on it. Yeah. Take your reward fam like for real.
Actually one of the main reason is that when everyone die, they will be departed by the law of nature. The things between the life and the dead are to accept the truth and "let go". Goku knew that he already got too much privilege than other souls, and this will cause too much management problem in the after world. That's why he just accept the rules and see that it's the right time to leave earth matters for Gohan and other warriors to protect the earth instead of relying on him all the time. If you watch Dragon Ball since the beginning you will know that even the Red Ribbon army created these android is because of him destroying the army.. and the list goes on until Raditz following him to earth.
You're guys reaction to Hurcle 😂😂😂 As for Vegeta he lost purpose when Goku died even though he hated Goku Goku pushed him to become better. It fueled him to become better and motivated him. What would you guys wish for with the dragonballs?
Yeah Frieza followed him to Earth post Namek battle, but there was always evil on Earth (or that would involve Earth in someway), regardless of Goku and whether he was there or not. Red Ribbon Army, King Piccolo just quickly coming to mind. They weren't there just because of him. Gero targets him later of course, but pretending that "Oh yeah wow, all this bad stuff and bad people happen because of meee" outlook is silly. Nappa and Vegeta came to Earth specifically for the dragon balls, not really for Goku. IMO, Goku's argument really isn't that strong tbh lol. Would he eventually say Babidi/Buu came to Earth because of him too? I mean, please... lmao. It's an excuse, his version of going out for cigarettes or milk and never returning lol
Kaio did mentioned that someone is always after Goku , ever since the whole saiyan part ,even earlier but thats a spoiler for anyone not watching dragon ball. Its not hard that at some point Goku thought that he had some fault plus him cheathing death all the time doesnt feel natural. At this point Toriyama ( rest in peace) already felt way too tired with the story , it was a good chapter to close on Goku.
Yo bro, watch out for the comment section.. some people are dropping spoilers and it's really annoying the rest of us. Just letting you know ✌️ Great reaction as always!
LOL! Yeah Goku was being mad selfish. It would have been Goku and Gohan protecting the Earth... Who's about to really mess with them? Bro, you got a whole family to look after. But, in the world of Dragon Ball, it could have been true that trouble always follows Goku. So we can't equate a real life decision of leaving his family the same.
Nah, Vegeta wasn't the hero. He was just cleaning up his mess in my opinion. He flew off the handle and almost got himself killed and Gohan got injured trying to save him.
EXACTLY, vegeta is cool and all, but Gohan saved him multiple times in this arc, the whole reason vegeta "saved the day" is because he got Gohan injured in the first place, not only that, at the end of the day only Gohan's power could truly beat Cell, Vegeta's distraction beam was nothing but nothing.
Android 17and 18 were cyborgs and were humans to certakn extent. Thats why 17 was brought back. Android 16 was purely mechanical. He didnt have any life force.
@@raphaelvarela8604 appreciated the info it's just the wish said all those killed by Cell so was feeling like he should have come back to but see you point of view with Android 16 been full machine. At this point with all the Z fighter been stronger and Gohan want somebody around his uncle Raditz should have been wish back lol
@@Kash_28 according to them, they’re saying they’re in the Buu saga on Patreon but I don’t know if 18 and Krillin get together during that arc so they may still not know
I respect Gokus decision here. From day 1 he protected what he was born to destroy and instead of suffering he made the most of it. Heck even his family was because he kept his promise to chi chi. He could've made any choice he wanted yet continued to do good without being selfish. This is the first time Goku ever made a decision for himself and as a hero he deserves it.
i truly wish toriyama didnt listen to the fans, DBZ should've ended right here. Buu saga is garbage so prepare yourself, the only thing that was saved it was the fusions and new transformations. if DBZ ended in cell saga it would've been hands down the best fighting shonen ever. Buu saga was a comedy gag for the most part
There's no "listen to the fans" there's zero evidence Toriyama intended to end it at any point other than the point he actually did end it. And some of us like and got into Dragon Ball for the "comedy gags" considering that's what Dragon Ball started as. The series is called Dragon Ball, not DBZ, and it's more than just serious moments.
@@robbiemedica2652 Dragon Ball Super definitely hams up the gag moments, but it'll be interesting to see how Toyotaro decides to write the story going forward without Toriyama's input.
Buu series would have been the best, but everything post Gohan fighting Buu was hot garbage, and the late final act of the Buu series and everything after it is trash to me.
Alexis. Goku is actually dead, no spoilers, but chop that up and let it be. If y'all keep going with the saga's. I hate what they did with Gohan, until one... nevermind on that. Vegeta should've been treated better also
This was pretty much the end of Gohan's character arc in the series, so there wasn't really much else they could do with him. A lot of people don't realize this but a major part of the Buu saga actually is Vegeta's character arc coming full circle.
@@krazkeelo9032 Then you just don't appreciate the true depth of what Vegeta's character really is and are only looking at it on a surface level. He's easily the most complex and best written character in the series actually.
