The Nicola-Nadine unison into the Cheryl harmony and Nadine high note is iconic. Also loved Sarah’s belt on the last chorus which she nails every time.
Coming back to add that if you loved this Cheryl harmony, you should hear her harmonize with herself in her Sexy No No No intro during their tour. She served!!
Cheryl, Nadine and Sarah are truly on fire here! 🔥 Cheryl's harmony on the intro, Nadine belt and Sarah's iconic primrose line!! Bloody brilliant. Nuff said lol
WHEN I TELL YOU, THE MICS WAS ALL THE WAY TURNED UP AND ON THAT NIGHT!!!! Girls Aloud sang their fucking faces off that night on Jonathan Ross! BUT When Nadine and Nicola came sailing through on that second verse, "But one look in your glittered eyes, POWERS FAILING ME EVERYTIME!!!!" That shifted my wig all the way OFF, too, hahaha! I thoroughly enjoyed this reaction Werdna and this, by far, was their best performance of The Promise.
When you finish singles journey, I truly recommend you to watch some few songs that weren't singles from tours, especially Revolution in the Head, Love is Pain and On The Metro Edit: Control of the Knife and cover of Push It are musts too🔥
The girls definitely hit their peak at this point. This song won them a Brit Award! I remember watching this performance for the first time and was wowed how vocally good they were and could imagine what was to come. What a journey from Sound of the Underground to this! The singles after this were good but not "The Promise" good. The Loving Kind is next, please react to the GMTV live performance :)
By the way, Yesterday, Sugababes did a three song performance in the BBC live lounge with an orchestra. They did Too Lost In You, No Regrets, and a Cover of Miley Cyrus Flowers.
This is my favourite reaction of yours EVER! “I am the president and Supreme Court so there ain’t be no law suits coming over here“ ❤😅 “The girls are girling” 😂❤❤
YESSS! These girls had TALENT! 🗣 every single performance of the Promise was amazing. But imo the BEST performance of the song was at the Royal Variety show in 2012, that was absolutely incredible
yes!!! Sarah’s top harmonies and ad libs in that one are great as well as Cheryl eating up the choreo as she always does. Love Is Pain and Control of the Knife are some other faves from that tour as well. Would literally get his Patreon if he did those. 🤞
I love this performance and the Royal Variety version too. (Nadine really goes full diva/Elvis-like lip snarl in that one, and Nicola’s never looked better. Cheryl is… well, Cheryl.) But another less heralded, live-in-concert performance that REALLY showcases both their individual vocals and especially the arrangement and harmonies was “Broken Strings” from the Out of Control tour DVD. (Make sure you watch the tour DVD version.) It’s a cover, not a GA original song, but they “own” it. And they’re out on a remote stage in the middle of the crowd, so each girl really interacts with the fans. And of course, they’re smoking hot.
omg love these reactions! This is the first one Ive watched and I knw youve done several on them so cant wait to watch - you said this was their best one (i know youre focusing on vocals) but Im curious to find out if you reacted to any of their tour lives, so many good ones but my absolute favourite is Revolution in the Head.
Firstly gotta say, that I was never a Girls Aloud fan (although my ex-husband loved them!) but this was the only song that I actually really liked due to its harmonies and catchy tune. That said, When this track was originally released in the UK back in 2008 and performed live on national tv programs, although all the girls harmonised well, it was clear to see (and hear) that the 3 best voices in the group where, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and the late Sarah Harding (R.I.P Sarah). Ironically, when this group was first formed and managed by Louis Walsh (later replaced by Hilary Shaw), Sarah was not part of the original line-up choice and she seemed to have the better voice over Cheryl (who had been placed has lead) and who later became a solo artist. This said, it isn't always the lead singers who have the best vocals....has been proven in 'many' Female/ Male groups in history.
Happy that the universe provided the right timing to put them all together to make history. Love how they came into their own while delivering them vocals!
@@Werdnasings Girls Aloud are a wonderful happenchance all along the public voted 5 women out of the ten but not a group.. the group's the producer the choero and there work attitude gave up so much music, seriously have you checked out girls aloud off the record so worth it .
Still can't believe Sarah is gone. I met Girls Aloud and hugged and spoked to each of them APART from Sarah who said something really rude and barged past me. I understand people having bad days but this was just before they were going on stage at a concert. Regrettably I called her something I can't take back, so our only interaction was incredibly negative. In my defence, this was nearly 18 years ago and I was a lil bit tipsy 18 year old (at least Cheryl burst out laughing when she heard what I said to Sarah!)
He’ll have to react to both and not do the MV because the MV is just cheap. The Children In Need performance is iconic because it’s their reunion after 4 years off & the iconic orange dresses and Nicola sounded amazing! Strictly performance the staging was messy but Kimberly’s MIC WAS ON!!!!!!!!
Love how happy you look! Such a shame Polydor never released Girls Aloud in the USA at the time. In your opinion, do you think if they were released to the US market (back in the day) they would have been bigger than Spice Girls/ Little Mix?
Thank you! Hard to say only because girl/boy bands were on the way out in the states and early to mid 2000s, America adopted more urban sound than traditional pop so don’t think they would’ve been able to crossover with the same success
