@@dionjaywoollaston1349 Nah, the French were a pretty formidable army in WW2, just using outdated tactics. French tanks and infantry were actually just as well trained as the Germans and even had more and better tanks than Germany in 1940. The French northern front even refused to retreat and held the line long enough so the British could run away and escape Dunkirk, resulting in the capture of all french forces in the belgian pocket. The Italians on the other hand, have never actually succeeded in any offensive operations and failed to defend any of its frontlines for 5 years straight.

@@commanderbacara225 you realize they pushed the English out of east Africa for like a year right? They succeeded in the Russian front even charging tanks with cavalry. In north Africa 90% of all axis soldiers were Italian and during Rommel's race to the wire the young fascist volunteer unit held the English at bir el gubi saving the entire axis force.

All remaining Italian units left in Africa were reconstituted into the DAK for the next two years, before Italy joined the Allies in 1943. As a result, the Heer suffered more casualties in Africa than in any other theatre of war combined, second only to the failure of Operation Barbarossa. The Italians in the eastern front were also partially responsible for the complete encirclement of the 6th Army in Stalingrad because they were unable to protect the flanks of the 6th Army at all. While the bravery and sacrifice of Italian troops against impossible odds are well established, they still didn't really perform competently on any front in the operational level.

Pravda is Soviet, not Russian Federation. They may be commonly used interchangeably by many in the west, but if they were the same thing the events in Ukraine would be a civil war. Definitely looking forward to the next episode, all that aside!

@@Ruhrpottpatriot I don't think so. My point was that the war with Ukraine is *not* a civil war. Finland possibly having armed hostilities with the Russian Federation does not make it the same entity as the Soviet Union just because the winter war happened, if that is the point you were making. You can still end up with geopolitical tensions with successor states, but that doesn't mean for instance that every conflict the US enters is therefore a conflict with the UK because of former colonial status either. Anyway, not sure what you were getting at anyway, I almost just erased this and dropped the conversation, but my initial post was related to the top comment of this thread and how the Russian Federation gets one-to-one conflated with the Soviet Union in western media, but doing so only makes marginally more sense than if you did the same with Kazakhstan.

After how long of waiting we finally got episode 8! Just the best, couldn't be happier to see this. But I know it will take long for episode 9 to come out but I waited this long I can wait just as long for the next one. And as always this was hilarious, every joke and bit made me atleast smile in amusement so all around this was a great episode. Couldn't pin down a single moment but that's alright and just shows how great this episode is.

I said it once i'll say it again there should have been a lot of dead school girls in this anime. When Tankettes are sent rolling and tumbling like here seen in this episode the crew is pretty much paste
