(Il secondo libro di toccate, canzone, versi d’hinni, magnificat, gagliarde, correnti et altre partite d’intavolatura di cimbalo et organo di Girolamo Frescobaldi, organista in S. Pietro di Roma). ANNA-LIISA ELLER (kannel)
Stylish and very musical. What I like best is that she exploits what her instrument is capable of--a dynamic range and ability to vary the pluck to a greater extent than on a harpsichord--while preserving the spirit and character of the music. I have to think that Frescobaldi would have approved.
Uno strumento che avevo solo visto tra le mani degli angeli negli affreschi rinascimentali... Assolutamente incantevole, esecuzione sensibilissima. Grazie 🌷
What a lovely instrument to hear this on! I only know it for my harpsichord and this is a nice change on Frescobaldi, who is one of my favorite keyboard composers.
Complimenti, tecnica eccezionale. Il brano è perfetto per questo strumento dal suono celestiale. Mi piacerebbe ascoltare altri brani su questo strumento.
The more I listen to this piece, the more I hear harmonic similarities to Pachelbel. He does appear to have known Frescobaldi’s work (as did most south German musicians of the time)
So refreshing to hear a true artist. I’m a Juilliard trained pianist and just starting to appreciate this early Italian music. Brava ! I’ve been missing so much ! That’s you !
Amazing and beautiful performance. I was wondering about the ergonomics of the instrument though and how it effects the player . Anna has to lean forward to play off centre of gravity. This must create considerable strain on the neck and shoulder muscles if one spends many hours practicing which she obviously does.
