Supermodel shares her deeply personal journey to self-acceptance in an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, which she describes in her new book, "Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life."
@@DZ302-Z28 you have no idea what goes down in the modelling industry its one of the most crucial industries and fyi u have no right to judge someone that went thru depression.
Panic attacks are pure hell and they don't discriminate against social classes. I love hearing the personal side of her life's story, but it breaks my heart she suffered in this way. Her book sounds intriguing.
It breaks my heart too. She suffered in silence for years. And no one ever knew💔💔💔 She never recieved help and no one had the opportunity to even wish the best for her. To suffer it is enough. To suffer in silence like that. Trapped. It is beyond. I was shocked. This poor soul. I am soo glad she's to a better place now 🙏🙏💪🎊💝
I’m heartbroken too. We need to keep all the vulnerable women around the globe unnoticed. All emotional currency should be spent on the rich white and privileged. Our celebrity culture addiction had nothing to do with Trump getting elected. I’m stupid just like you.
Yeah I get em regularly from the stress of success. It's harder to enjoy life this way honestly. With nothing good in your life you quickly become depressed.
If you are a woman, and leaving a negative comment about her looks or her struggles, you need to see a counselor for low self-esteem. No real woman would ever pick apart another woman. Be good to yourself and to others...it looks good on you.
Being a woman doesn't mean we all have to hold hands and be friends. What determines sex is biology - not whether or not we worship your idol. You're just trying to shame everyone into loving Gisele for some bizarre reason. You can love her all you want. No one is stopping you but, get a grip. It's not anyone else's job to like what you like.
Gisele seems really down to earth and a very kind soul. She is beautiful strong and confident and seems like a very Happy person. I'm looking forward to reading her book.
Yes but would you give the same $20 (book outlay) to mental health initiatives instead of or in addition to your happy book purchase and intentions. Which do you think would do greater good? And prevent real tears in the future?
@@jiffjiffernson7292 perhaps she first enlightens herself with the book purchase and then uses encouraging words instead to move forward to help with the cause 👏 great idea 👏👑 thank you
Gisele and Tom have earned everything they've got. Gisele has her feet firmly planted on the ground and she truly wants to help people live before they die. Gisele , thank you!!!!
How come all the women who are crying never cry? Buy actually never cry, never any more tearing than opening and closing your eyes a few times but always reach for the same eye points and immediately recover in 15 sec. So moving. Let's bond. She's lovely so it's easier.
@@jiffjiffernson7292 100% and if you pay close attention to all the crisis actors in mainstream media no tears or tears and laughing shortly afterwards. She is selling a book.
@@sandyk8594 Well they have to try and mimic there base to sell their stuff, as if they have any conception or clue to her world, so she panders down to them, oh I had it rough too just like you, poor me...buy my book so I can go back to my Tom Brady husband mansion life
When I saw this in my suggested vids, I was like, what more do I need to know about Gisele? She's beautiful, Perfect body, perfect husband, rich, supermodel fashion icon, perfect life....then to learn of her anxiety, suicide contemplation...man you really NEVER know what someone is going through even if their lives seem good.
Giselle is a beautiful person, so down to earth. I love that she's vegan and grows her own garden. I'm happy for her, in that she has found stability through her relationship and marriage with Tom. The best to them both.
I started having them at 25 it is a nightmare!!!! They need to do studies on why this happens to women in their 20s. I have family and friends the same thing so I believe it’s hormone related. It’s the scariest most helpless feeling!!!
Wonderful interview!! Lovely family. I wish the family all the best. I grew up on our family farm growing and picking fresh vegetables!! Great job, G. I also relate to anxiety & panic attacks as well. Thanks for being so candid Giselle.
I doubt it's hormone related. Therapy, long term therapy could help you figure out what it's all about. Most people carry scars they dont even know from their upbringing. Even those who think they grew up in loving families. Or faulty thinking patterns... More people do these days, because our societies are getting emotionally and spiritually less healthy and more materialistic and people are less connected. Please see a therapist if you can afford it, or find a free one, it would save you years of your life...
I’ve had closterphobia for years and since I had my son it’s gotten so much worse to the point that I feel closterphobic in my body. As If my body is a coffin and I’m trapped in it. These are no joke. I cried when she mentioned her contemplation of suicide because it’s so familiar and terrifying.
Please seek counseling as soon as you can. And ask the counselor/therapist if there is an effective support group in your are you can meet with. Don't forget to pray. Good luck 🌻
It's nice to see someone grounded in a good married loving their children and the fact that they have each other: Blessed for sure! They truly are lucky to have each other!
I loved this. So much of the time we just see celebs living such a glamorous life and even in my age and maturity I get caught up thinking that somehow their celebrity life makes them immune. This was such a nice representation of her as momma and wife in that she is just a human with the same struggles so many people face. Beautiful inside and out.
'I was moving at such a fast pace, everything seemed to stand still'. When traveling at the speed of light, time does stand still...except for you. What she described is inertia. Just goes to show that, you can be close to 6ft tall, highly paid, succesful, gorgeous, rich, etc, etc...we all hurt and struggle. Here we have a supermodel standing on her balcony contemplating ending it all. And it took, choosing for herself and let the rest take of itself. And she came out the other end. Still gorgeous, still running the catwalk(i know she retired a while back) but a different version of herself. When she decided to stand still for a while, things started moving again.
I had to eliminate my food allergies to get to a level piece of ground to realize my anxiety was coming actually from adhd. Much to my surprise as i thought it was from the extreme levels of inflammation i was living with. But now that the food triggers aren't assaulting me day in and day out i can be present with myself 😇🙏. And things are finally right 🎊💝👏💪✊ (im 40 now. But now is better than never 😇)
Gisele thank you so much for sharing. You have me goose-bumps. I'm thrilled to hear to about your insights and how you've found calm in a world that is crazy busy. I'll be taking you up on that tip today & look fwd to reading your book. All the best for 2019 & enjoy being a mum! Cheers
ive always looked up to Gisele & it really touched my heart hearing her issues. very happy to hear that she was able to come thru it positively & has been able to enjoy her life with her family. best wishes for this happiness & wellness to continue. xo
Gisele was already one of my favorite models of all time; then she married the g.o.a.t and she continues to show how chill and amazing she is to this day. I want to hang out! 😁💙#6!
She has the most beautiful smile and light that I've ever seen in my life. She's so in control of her life and her determination and the love she has for life....well I wish we could all be like that.
How sad the comments .. mental health is a serious issue. Depression and anxiety does not choose from poverty, or gender, or color. It doesn’t differentiate and can happen to any of us. We all have our own internal battles and struggles. The lack of empathy and kindness is so huge nowadays that people don’t even hide it anymore. It’s sad. And then when we see on the news that an actor has died because they overdosed on anti-depressants or that a designer hung herself in her hotel room we get sad but we don’t realize that what leads up to it are issues that to you may seem small and pointless. Be kind to other people, that’s what we all need more of.
I agree but she’s a multimillionaire and if I had her money, I’d quit my job to take care of myself. I think people are upset at the fact that she has so much money but chose to ignore it and keep working to gain more money. So, was she really struggling?
You’re not too tall! Go for it, it’s all about the pictures and the photographer who takes your initial photos. It’s all about coming through in the picture
I understand exactly what she is saying. With fame and fashion your life starts becoming smaller and smaller, until you can not connect with most people. I'm so happy she took to meditation and found peace and a loving family.
What a beautiful way to prioritize. She is real. Putting her family first on a business that makes people feel that they will loose out must be challenging. Which makes me respect her and cheer for her. Beautiful person!
@@mjade1673 Beverly Jonnson, Iman, Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford, etc, etc. There are a plethora of models who can be considered "the best model of all time". There are a lot of models from different races that are doing well or have done well in the modeling industry and have open doors for current models like Gisele. I believe if you were to talk to Gisele . She would say the same thing.
"Live your life with love" ♥ Love you Gisele and Brady Family! I love how she grows her own garden and wrote a book! I can't wait to read it. She's an amazing role model!
Im so sorry to learn of your church family's loss Christina- that's super hard to process. When I lost someone close to me recently, I wondered why they would have passed away the way they did-alcohol abuse. I was then reminded by my Lord and savior Jesus Christ that we have been given free will to do the will of God or "do as thou wilt". In other words, life or death. Which do you believe?
I just clicked through to get here for no reason except the headline of getting rich and famous from nothing after Kylie Jenner, and how I got there is too far back, but Gisele unexpectedly mentioned getting panic attacks, and how they started. I have the same thing, and she explained it better than I ever have. Mine were different, but the same. You start with one thing, and then other things trigger it, and your world keeps getting smaller and smaller. Right now I'm in a sort of remission which can go months to years, but it's always there waiting to rear its head. She is spot on with this.
goes to show GIsele is one if not the MOST iconic, loved etc models int he world and even she went through hard times. I am so happy that she shared this.
I love her for being so honest. It doesn't take alot to realize even tho she is wealthy it does not single her out from having problems in life. I really like them both so much.
When I was 13 I also walked in a brazilian mall and asked by an agency for model career... For pressure I took a photo, filled in a form and afterwards I got a call days later... but I had no intereted in... I am surprised and glad that Gisele took this kind of unpredicable oportunity and has become such as iconic personality in this industry... probably it is so much hard get this position.
Wow, she is really lovely. Have thought for along time, she is very beautiful. Had never heard her speak. She is really a nice person. "Live your life with love." Amen to that!
In Thailand we've been teaching kids how to do meditation... Buddhist we've been doing this for thousand year. I did it all the time eveyday. It's really calm your mind
For those eho strugle now : 1. You can't have controll of everything. 2. It is ok to be /feel not ok. To say NO sometimes.... to not smiling ,being joyfull, fun all the time. 3. People will judge you anyway. Even if you are a topmodel or the best doctor ever lived . But. It is about them, not you. 4. Listen to yourself. Your emotions, your body. Before it shouts to you HELP by panic attacks . 5. When you have them,remmember...if you had the power to get you into this, you already have the power to get you out of it. It is still you. 6. Seek help. Talk about it. It takes so much energy to pretend, everyrhing is ok. Look for the nature, woods, water, fireplace. No junk food. No sugar. Lots of sleep ..good one. Less social media possible. Too much information. Useless information. Go inside yourself. That problem. Look for the trigger. Stay with it,don't run. Often once you pass it iis not that scary at all. Breath...sing...do the exercised. It is all connected...food,hormones, nerv.sistem. I did it ,you can do it!!!! You are a miracle of nature/God. The only one of a kind. Every ant has a reason to be here..and a purpose. Immagine -you!!! "This too shall pass!" 🙏😎☀️

@@k.holland7011 Tom Brady could've got paid more than what hes worth now but he didnt want a big contract because he rather have a better Team to keep winning Championship
She's an amazing woman and model. My favorite. I also tried to jump from a building once a time. Fortunately, in the end, I didn't do it. I had a mental health crisis and screamed at the top of building loudly as I could and doctors from emergency medicine came to pick me up and save me... I stayed in hospital for the next few months.
I am truly convicted about my judgment of her. I'll admit, I thought she was a shallow walking waif. She is actually just like any other human being, she has her flaws and insecurities and struggles. Way to go Giselle 💪🏾
