I don't know about the parachute thing. When we were teenagers in my basketball team we used to play with medicine balls ath the start of the training session so after a few minutes our arms would get used to that weight and regular basketballs felt very light and comparatively "easier" to shoot: that meant, however, that we were far more likely to hit distant shots but also to overshoot easier shots from closer distance. I think generally speaking the best training is to repeat the action that you actually have to do rather than adding hurdles to have an initial better feeling when you do that action

I could be wrong, but I feel like unless Balatro gets significant dlc, as it's a single player game, it won't have the legs to last very long

Higher stakes Balatro runs are really kind of miserable, you play ten runs that die in ante 2 because you get no good starter jokers, and even if you make it out of the early game you're still at the mercy of dying to RNG at any point unless you get a godly combo.
