Sometimes mistaken for an O'Carolan piece, this harp tune was written in about 1603 by Rory Dall O'Cahan (Ruaidri Dáll Ó Catháin) who predated O'Carolan by a good few decades. Either way, it's safe to say that this is another harp piece that sits beautifully on the guitar! Given the romantic sounding name, this one makes a lovely wedding processional or dance.

Thank you, Lindsay. Great piece. Hopefully, I can learn this, or parts, to play for my friends in Memory Care. I have found finger picking some pieces gets them really calm and relaxed. Or peacefully asleep, something some of them need. It's better than using medication. Thanks

Thank you for sharing this excellent arrangement. While I don't usually play this music, I love these traditional and old pieces. I really like your arrangement, the bass line movement and that use of the G chord and omitting the third. Those fourths really add to the sound of this piece. I will be adding this piece to my playlist.

Awesome, glad to hear it! The funny thing is, it's so fast moving all I feel I did was add the most convenient bass line to fill out the chord, but it really stands on that alone. If I haven't played it in a while it's a good little challenge!

I'm impressed with how cleanly you do the quick changes and of course the pace. I think you had a lot of practice sessions with the metronome, or did you swallow a Swiss watch as a child?

@@LindsayStraw The metronome and I will probably never be friends, but I can base my rhythm and solo playing well on the drums and bass. I've now reached a point where I either seriously get into theory and playing technique and risk losing the joy of music, or perfect myself in what I can do after 40 years and still keep the fun of music. Since I'm already 64, I'll probably choose the second option, the easy way, but with your foundation you'll be able to choose later what you want to play, while I'll have to settle for blues, rock, etc.

Currently I have the D'Addario coated phosphor bronze lights on, though TBH, I prefer the non-coated.
