Lindsay You're an awesome musician!!! Thank you for sharing some Brouwer with us!!! I'm going to go play some of his etudes. Appreciate the inspiration 🙏 as a Classical guitarist I like some pieces played on steel string some more than nylon for the different colors. Take care 🙏 You're going to make me pull out my steel string😂

I love your interpretation of these studies. I find your performances of these studies more interesting than other recordings I've listened to. I actually prefer these pieces on the steel strung guitar or maybe it is how you play them. The secret is in how they are played.

Lindsay, could you please make a tutorial on how to play Hares on the Montains? There's not planty of tutorials on RU-vid, besides most of them are wrong. You are the only one that was able to get that right. Please think about it 🙏🏼

Really beautiful! The Bouzouki has a beautiful character which enhances the performance! I don’t know anything about Bouzouki. Is that a standard tuning for that instrument or are you using an altered tuning relative to the instrument? In any case it works beautifully !
@LindsayStraw
@LindsayStraw 10 дней назад
I use GDAD, which is probably the most common tuning among folks who play Irish bouzouki and Irish music. Some folks do use standard mandolin GDAE, and a few use ADAD.

Very sensitive and quiet expression of this song about Ireland under English domination. I first heard this song on Planxty's 2nd Album (sung by Andy Irvine?). It took me a while to realize that the narrator left his true love (much like Kathleen Ni Houlihan, the spirit of Ireland), and ends up in the pay of England's overseas army.
