I just got the newer version (3) and it works great but it does take around 30 seconds to connect and be ready. You also can't use WiFi when using it which I use with the dash cams.
Your review is lacking one key important point. How fast does it connect to your phone when you start the truck after initial setup? Does it automatically play music if you already had something playing before? In the BMW I rented it had the wireless CarPlay built in and literally it would connect to your phone before you could even put your seatbelt on or think about driving anywhere and it would start playing music automatically.
It looks like it uses bluetooth for the initial pairing, and once paired it uses wifi for pairing and transferring data to and from the phone to the device.
I would imagine that it doesn't matter what radio is used, so long as it supports CarPlay on its own already? The only thing I'm seeing is there's different modules for different cars/radios. I'd expect it to be fine as long as those match up?
My current device is the Cplay2air, and 2 things I hate, after 5 mins of music I hear a ton of static and the device never turn on with the car... Any issues after a period of time with this device?
I have this in my car as well. I’m a bit disappointed by it since it fails to connect half the time. I have to unplug it and plug it back in quite often before it’ll connect. I haven’t noticed any static. It seems this Carlinkit has the same problems I do. The connection screens look alike, too, so I wonder if all of these devices are just cheap junk made by the same company but sold under multiple names. They somewhat work, but are not terribly impressive.
You can use apple carplay wireless by turning on ur car and clicking the voice button on ur steering wheel then on ur iPhone go into settings general then carplay and tap ur cars name and ur connected u could also re arrange icons on that menu in settings.
All of these devices have the same issue. The car play adapter has to be the only Bluetooth device connected to your phone at the time of starting the car and connecting. If you have an Apple Watch or other device, it will give an error or take forever to connect. I had one and it wasn’t worth the frustration. I DONT recommend.

Yeah it’s a transmitter but I found out they also make adapters that support some Vehicles to give them Apple CarPlay if it wasn’t already equip was it.
Demanding much? Haaa! Anything else you’d like the dude to make a video about. You can’t play any video on many of those head units unless the parking brake is engaged ...or you are smart enough to bypass the interlock. I’m guessing you might... nevermind.
@@bradpointer6134 ha ha but you never asked the question I know on the head unit you have to put it in park for a video to play the question was can you play RU-vid videos?since you avoided the question I went to another site to check out a review and found out that it crashes most radios the voice gets distorted also the navigation doesn’t work after a while and when you call customer service they do not respond so either you work for the company or you don’t know much about the product people do your research it’s garbage

My point was not to answer questions, it was to point out that you were being ridiculous expecting the guy to make a new video just for you to address all of your stupid questions.
