Regarding Giveon: If you're not a vocalist, please don't speak on things you don't know ANYTHING about. Not cool. You could clearly see (literally on camera) that Giveon could not hear himself in his in ears monitors (Google what that is if needed). He motioned to the sound engineer, several times. Tapping his ear and the microphone, and you saw them swapping out the mic twice. And as you can hear, once that was resolved the performance was solid vocally and in tune. I'm not even a fan of his and don't know his music, but as one vocalist taking up for another you saw exactly what was happening. Don't try to play him like he's anywhere near that Verzuz foolishness we watched last week. Now THAT was a vocal disaster, sadly.

I love how Charlamagne works on a radio station but he still doesn’t know what Giveon looks like or that Mariah was on the remix 🤣🤣🤣. It just shows you how hard he works that he barely has time for things that aren’t top priority and also how much news and content we get feed. It’s impossible to catch up. The problem with the mic is there are different key settings for each song. The mic was set to the wrong setting so he was singing the correct notes on key but the mic was projecting the sound in a different key. That’s why on the other songs it sounds perfectly fine

For the record there’s no way Giveon could of recovered from that. It wasn’t that he couldn’t hear himself. It was an auto tune malfunction. Auto tune keeps you in tune by adjusting each note to fit into the key you program it to. Sounded like his auto tune slipped into the key of the next song early so anything he sung in that moment would sound awful. Ya favorite singer would of also sounded bad in that situation lol. Unfortunately auto tune is the industry standard now, regardless if you can sing or not. Everyone was likely using it that night, but Giveon just happened to take the L of it fucking up. And to make it worse of course he’s gonna claim sabotage cause he can’t come out and say what actually happened cause that would make himself and everyone else look worse 😂
