Another clever parallel for Sheik and Stroke of Midnight is that Cinderella’s true identity at the ball isn’t known by everyone until later, much like how we all find out that Sheik is actually Zelda. As far as K Rool, I would’ve given him Wheel of Fate since he was a pirate captain for DKC2 but your explanation had me agreeing and laughing my ass off at the same time.

I can't believe you gave Megaman the perfect keyblade for him while completely missing the reason why it was the most obvious choice. Nano Gear's form change uses technology to emulate the attacks of all the other formchanges, the same way Megaman copies the abilities of the robot masters after defeating them.

I'd say the Dream Sword counts as a Keyblade, considering you can turn Sora's Keyblade into it in Days with the Zero Gear. I'd also say that if we're indeed accepting Keyblade-adjacent weapons, then I could also see Daisy wielding a Struggle bat instead of the umbrella, given her athletic nature.

God damn. So most of these I was nodding my head in agreement, or laughing at the reason and just kinda rolling with it, but Pyra/Mythra getting Two Become One is actually sheer genius.

The master’s defender/rainfell thing is kinda clever because, just like the master’s defender was passed from Eraqus to Aqua, the falchion was passed down from Marth and eventually ended up with Lucina. So I would make only two changes to your list. Corrin: While yes, Corrin is a dragon, they are a water dragon. Way of the Dragon doesn't fit them too well. However, a much more fitting one is Rejection of Fate from Days. Not only does it look like their arm when they transform, a lot of Corrin's game is about following your fate. In order to achieve the best route, Corrin must make their own fate in order to save everyone. Aka, reject the fate of the two paths in front of them. Min Min should get Way of the Dragon because 1. China. Min Min is from China, and the keyblade is from Mulan, a story all about saving China. You get the point 2. A lot of Min Min's powers are all about using the dragon's flame. Her arms are dragon heads that spit fire after all. That Keyblade would match her like a pair of socks. Other than though, good video. Enjoyed it.

The Dream Sword for Link elevates this thread honestly.

Couple comments to make. First, according to lore, Terry's energy attacks draw power directly from the Earth rather than his own body, which makes Terra's Keyblade, Ends of the Earth, all the more fitting for him. Second, and this is a big one. Aubade (not Aub _l_ ade) is a word for songs about lovers separating at dawn. Oddly specific, but as one of Roxas's Keyblades, it touches on both the theming of light and the theming of loneliness, each of which he has some Keyblades devoted to. In Byleth's story, they start out as an emotionless husk much like Roxas, only for their emotions to come out in full force with the death of a loved one. Depending on the route you choose and how willing you are to rewind when a unit dies, Byleth's actions can lead to many *other* people losing their loved ones as well. The final point is that one of Byleth's titles is "the Fell Star", and... well, remember, light phenomena are a big motif of Roxas's weapons.

Midnight Blue suits Sonic more as well, Unleased was a game where he turned into a Werehog so LOL

Shulk wielding the no name Keyblade is more fitting than it may seem.

I don't know if someone pointed it out already, but I love MegaMan's Keyblade because it is red. It is a direct reference to Rush, which is Megaman's pet dog. He transforms into a jetboard or an armor. So the Big Hero 6 keyblade hits the mark.

The Byleth one actually works on another level. In 3 houses Byleth is stated to be a relatively emotionless character who doesn't really feel anything and is barely a person so throughout the game, and once a certain plot point occurs Byleth becomes more human and begins to draw out more of their emotions, which is also what the keyblade you gave him does. Its a good fit

Very nice. There's really only one I would change (well, technically 2, but I have no idea what to give K. Rool.) And that's making Lucas' keyblade Destiny's Embrace. One of the big catalysts for the start of the plot is the death of Lucas' mom and later, there's this heartbreaking scene where Lucas sees his mom's ghost in a field of flowers, and out of all the flower themed keyblades, DE is the best fit for the flower field. In addition, now that I'm thinking about it, the name Destiny's Embrace would also fit do to the ending, where the world is seemingly destroyed, but after the credits during the 'The End' screen, you can talk to various characters without seeing them and they don't seem too bothered by the whole end of the world thing, which is fitting. They've literally embraced their destiny, regardless of what it is. Good luck figuring out what K. Rool's new keyblade should be, if you take my suggestion seriously. Also, the reason I'm not blaming you for thinking of this is because there's no official way to play Mother 3 in the west because Nintendo can be dumb sometimes.

I just recently got into Kingdom Hearts because I've always wanted to but Sora being in Smash pushed me over the edge. Luckily I'm able to run KH1 Final Remix well on my Laptop. But there are more keyblades! How does that work?! Should I not be watching this due to spoilers?!

I think Joker could get Keyblade of Heart since it can unlock someone's heart, releasing the darkness within and Joker and the Phantom Thieves steal hearts in order to, and I quote, "change and reform society for better", which could also be interpreted as releasing the "dark" intentions of a person

Sonic and Lucario NEED to trade keyblades. You gave Sonic a magic heavy keyblade and Lucario a fast air combo keyblade with a spin dash on the top.

I love it, my only reparations would be for Link, giving him your choice of Ultima Weapons, as it's kind of a parallel to how the Master Sword in any Zelda game is the Ultimate Weapon in those games, and then for Peach and Daisy, swapping their weapons because peach had the umbrella before daisy was even added, plus the divine rose would work more with daisy seeing as her final smash drops down a bunch of flowers, though not roses, you can see where I come from there. Those are the only changes I'd make but nonetheless I love it all ❤

I feel like Cloud would use Fenrir or Metal Chocobo depending on his outfit, similar to how his classic uses the Buster Sword and AC uses the Fusion Sword(s), especially since both keyblades are based on both swords.

seeing the keyblades next to smash characters makes me appreciate their design more because when i’m playing kingdom hearts and I unlock a new keyblade, half of the time it looks completely ridiculous but these all looked really nice next to their smash counterparts

I like how Roy got the keyblade that resembles Axel and Lucina got Aquas keyblade, and yet those characters match exactly with the spirit board in smash.

Young Link could also get Wayward Wind. Amusingly enough, due to being sent to the future, sleeping in a heart coma for twelve years, and then going to the Realm of Darkness for a year (RoL-time; probably a week and a half for him), Ven is still the youngest character in the main cast despite being born long before everyone else. (Sort of like how OoT Link is the earliest incarnation of Link aside from SS Link (who is not represented in Smash), and is also the most experienced Link, but is the youngest physically and mentally.) There's also the forest/green motif, and Ven's primary color is green. Thematically, he could also get Missing Ache (although I would prefer Wayward Wind aesthetically), since Young Link was separated from Navi, has a truckload of trauma, and he died with regrets (Hero's Shade). Wow. That got dark. Amusingly, Corrin's Omega Yato (I literally just Googled it so that I would know what it was called) resembles a chainsword like Sora was given early in development. If the Smash Fighters talked like in some other fighting games or like Palutena's Guidance, it might be a fun Easter Egg to have Sora tell them "That's a cool sword." That bit with King K. Rool! Oh, man, I cannot unsee that!

Because he needed a vessel, and needed them to be able to wield the monado, so when it was seen that Shulk was able to, he took his body which nearly killed him. Another thing with Phantom Green and Luigi is that Phantom Green is a Thunder-based keyblade (with Thunder Boost and Thundaza as abilities), and in one of the Mario RPGs, Luigi gets the Thunderhand skill from the Thunder God (and I think he learns other lighting attacks?), so it works on even more levels. Also, on Mewtwo, I'd argue a bit giving him Hyperdrive instead of Olimar because both Mewtwo and Stitch are genetic experiments.

Marth’s and Lucina’s are extra perfect if you look at Marth as Ephemer. Ephemer founded Scala and had the Master Defender passed down over thousands of years until it reached Aqua. Marth didn’t found his kingdom, but he did originate the Fire Emblem series, and his weapon was passed down over thousands of years until it reached Lucina

Just coming back to this video thinking about who on the roster would actually be able to wield a keyblade and why.

Okay, I got **A LOT** of things I want to say, So I'll list them in order: 1.The moment where we reached King K. Rool and why he got destiny's embrace, I realise this is all a huge joke and I shouldn't take too seriusly. With that said, If we were to remake this where every single character got an actual "unambiguous" Keyblade, I'll probably do it like this: -*Link* : *Ultimate Weapon* (KH2 or BBS version)-It's one of the few Keyblades that are based directly on a Sword and it's meant to be Legendary like Master Sword itself. And the Color Scheme of this versions fits with with the Master Sword (I'm surpise that none got any of the Ultimate Weapons. Feels like an Obvious choice) -*Daisy* : We could give her *Destiny's Embrace* instead or alternativelly we could had given her any of the *Alladin's Keyblades* , since Sarasaland, her Kingdom, is associated with deserts. And *King K. Roll* would get *Wheel Of Fate* (KH3) instead because he is a Pirate and have a wooden ship. -*Young Link* : He could have *Fairy Stars* (BBS) since not only it is Fairy based, but is also have three Beams of Red, Blue and Green colors, like the goddest of Hyrule or Spirital Stones or even the main three transformations in Majora's Mask. -*Duck Hunt* : Instead of Giving *Shooting Star* to *Rosalina* , we could give give her *Star Cluster* or *Star Seeker* and than we Give the *Shooting Star* to *Duck Hunt* . Not only because it got "Shooting" in the name, but is also one of the few Keyblades that Turn in to a F*cking Gun (Zapp Gun) and a Bazooka (Super Scope). An Alternative joke would had been to give them The Mage's Staff and Knight's Shield, because you know.... -You completly Forgot the *Miis* ;n; : They obviouslly get *Starlight* , since it's the Keyblade of the Protagonist of Union X, who is also a costumizable avatar. Also It's the Mass produced Keyblade that get costumazable in to various diferent things, Like Miis themselfs.(Also if we are including Mii costumes in to the Equation, *Sans* would use *Darker Than Dark* from *Days* , since Skull Noise is used by Bayonetta already. The ones in the Know will know) -*Master Hand* : Isn't a (Normally) Playable character, but if I were to give the *χ-Blade* to anyone it would be them. 2. Incidental coincidents and themes that you didn't talked about: -*Game & Watch* getting *Monochrome Dream* (KH2) makes extra sense since in KH3 the Classic Kingdom are Game And Watch style games based on old Mickey Mouse's shorts. So it makes sense in that logic of giving him the old 30's shorts based Keyblade. -*Lucas* 's *Wishing Star* (KH1) also fits Mother 3's Wood and nature motif and Looks like a wooden toy Lucas would had used and Had from his Farmer Upbringing. Lucas also uses a Wooden Stick to fight. -*Treasure Trove* (BBS) even have the Pickaxe as it's Teeth. It Is Overlly perfect for Minecraft *Steve* -Honeycomes are the life Bar in the *Banjo & Kazooie* games and such they are a commun motif in game besides just the obvious association of Bear and Honey. Also *Hunny Spout* (KH3) is just cartoony and forest made looking enough to fit the Aesthetic of the series. -*Nano Gear* (KH3) Also fits *Megaman* by the fact that the Keyblade's form turns in to all the other existing form weapons during it's combos, just like Megaman copy the ability of other Robots. 3. Alternative Keyblade for some characters: -Some of the Horror or spooky characters associated with Ghosts could use the *Nightmare before Christmas's Keyblades* . As such *Luigi* could use *Decisive Pumpkin* (KH2). Because its Tolken is Zero, Jack's Ghost Dog and Luigi Also have a ghost dog named Polterpup. -*Dedede and Yoshi* are kinda interchangable, so it dosen't really matter, but I think *Sweet Dreams* (KH3D) kinda fits *King Dedede* better since it has "Dream" in the name, Like in Dreamland, and Has a Trophy in it which fits His Tendency to compete with Kirby in various things like in "Gourmet Races". On the other Hand, *Sweetstack* (BBS) is the Only Keyblade with Fruits on it so ,by Association, it fits *Yoshi* (Which is kinda very Minor, but I thought of it so I'm typing it in) -Dizzpen Zerr in the comments gave a really good reason why *Young Xehanorth's Keyblade* (KH3D) would fit *Bayonetta* , because of her Witchtime. -Again, any Star Based Keyblade would also fit *Kirby* . -*Divewing* (KH3D) Would also Fit *Falco* . 4.Other things: -Couldn't find alternative Keyblades for either *Incineroar* or *Pikachu*. All the good Fire based keyblades are already taken and there isn't as much Electric or Thunder based Keyblade as I thought there were. :/ -I also couldn't give a better alternative to *Sonic* 's Keyblade. There is no Speed ,Hedgehog or Blue Keyblades that fit. Maybe *Dual Disc* (KH3D) since it is Blue and ring based, but Dark Samus already has it. Also *HyperDrive* (BSS) because of MEGAdrive... -*Guardian Bell* and *Ferris Gear* (KH3D) Both look like they could fit for someone, but I couldn't find a character that it could make sense. Maybe *Bayonetta*, but I'm not sure. -I also wanted to give a Keyblade for *Pokemon trainer* , but I can't find anything that fits. Maybe, alternative, I could had given him the *Fairy Stars* (BBS) because the three beams could represent the the Three pokemons and Given *Lost Memory* (BBS) to *Young Link* because the keyblade remind me of a "piece of Heart" from Zelda, but I'm not sure this theming works. -Also if we were to make this based on any Weapon in Kingdom hearts, than we could had gone way up crazier. We could had give *Graceful Dahlia* to *Daisy* or *Piranha Plant* and *The Foudre* to *Pikachu* or *Pichu*. -Lol, I wonder if you would read this whole Essay in your commens. I didn't not make this thinking it would get this long. Sorry for that >_>; Hope it was at least intertainmenting or eye opening. Hey! I saw this on Twitter! The fact you gave the Marvel keyblade to the Capcom character and it was "robot themed" and not a reference to MvC was surprising. Shulk basically being Xenoblade's Xenahort not being the reason you gave him that keyblade also shocks me. Seems like you did a lot of accidental references that were extremely clever.

I would've given Ike Chaos Ripper, mostly because of the length of the blade. It's one of the keyblades I think unconditionally requires a normal person to hold it with two hands and Terra casually holds the damn thing with one hand just like Ike holds Ragnell with one hand despite having the weight of a Twohander.
