Just gave it to my little one; she so rarely gets bites but....she was able to sleep last night because her iching was almost as back as poison ivy, although no external bumps, per se...But I never make a habit of it; for my dogs or me.
It might be a stop gap measure to get a dog to sleep through the night rather than incessantly bark all night long ...like I say just a stop gap method but not something to use continuously ...but for a temporary solution? It might work! Say a dog normally sleeps in the house and has no real barking issues but then the owners go away for the weekend and put their best friend in the backyard and have someone stop by to feed water and walk ....well trouble is pooch is VERY likely to not understand and make a helluva racket! Very might go on ALL NIGHT LONG too! IF someone cant have mercy on the poor anxiety ridden canine (bring in to SOMEONE's home!? Maybe the garage? ) at least perhaps give him something to induce sleep! For both his safety and the sanity of the neighbors! There ARE people that WILL take matters into their own hands when it comes to dogs endlessly barking....people have been known to abduct the pet, poison it or even shoot the poor thing if no one is going stop the infernal barking ...I am pretty sure this is way more common that people would believe and largely I bet it goes un investigated ...if a dog dies how many times will there be an autopsy? Or it if disappears how many times will there be a police investigation? In both cases I am thinking practically never...chalked of to natural causes or dumb dog ate something or dog jumped fence and ran off...With THAT real possibility I am thinking a sleep agent might just be the answer for the occasional situation like this ...Of course for chronic barking someone is going to HAVE too do whatever it takes to find a solution! OBVIOUSLY dogs in a residential setting just CAN NOT be allowed to disturb neighbors ALL THE TIME! An owner HAS to solve the problem by allowing the animal to live indoors or by using electronic training device or maybe "white noise" audio system that creates camouflage for other night noises that a dog might bark at (some dogs that is the WHOLE problem! With thier superior predator hearing they hear it all and respond by barking thier head off! Mask the sounds with a constant ocean sort of staticy water rushing noise and they can no longer hear every little sound in a populated neighborhood! I used to walk my dogs late at night and there was but ONE dog that it was impossible to sneak by his house ....I felt terrible but it was the only time I had to walk my dogs! Finally I left a note in their mailbox telling them about white noise generators available cheap on amazon ...you know what?
