Today's gospel:
Jesus said to his disciples:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
You heard me tell you,
'I am going away and I will come back to you.'
If you loved me,
you would rejoice that I am going to the Father;
for the Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you this before it happens,
so that when it happens, you may believe.
I will no longer speak much with you,
for the ruler of the world is coming.
He has no power over me,
but the world must know that I love the Father
and that I do just as the Father has commanded me." John 14:27-31a

Truly leaving your worldly cares at the altar is so difficult to do. Even when you do leave it all for God, the attacks of the enemy will always come and try to put that doubt and worry into your mind. Invoke Christ's peace and mercy when those attacks come. Do not fret, for HE is with us. I want to suggest a video for those struggling with anxiety...look up Father Mark Beard's homily from the 5th Sunday of Easter, May 7, 2023 on worry/anxiety. It is so powerful, timely and appropriate to Keith's message today. God bless all of you my brothers and sisters.

Amen! I was once "in control" of all aspects of my lfe, not needing nor thinking of our Lord, then it all crashed and shattered. I still suffer after 35 years from that arogance and I ask for forgivness. My Lord, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Jesus, I trust in you.....

When I saw 'Giving it up' in the title I almost lost my peace :) I thought that you somehow had enough of bad comments, and you are giving it up on you tube. Oh Wow, Medjugorje. I just came back from Medjugorje one-week ago, i was on a Pilgrimage. The place is so peaceful, saw alot of people walking on the street praying the Rosary, every single day. It was just amazing!

Amén... even though there are still variables to understand in order to let go... one example are troubles that need to be solved... you can let it to the lord but is He taking control over it? do you remember something like " who put me as your judge?"... Luke 12:14 ( i read the spanish version)... it means there are some sort of things that he takes in his hands but some others he doesnt... how to know the difference?, when to put all our hands in and where let it all in his hands?... that my friend, is the question... blessings and greetings from Mexico

The third mystery of the Joyful mystery is the nativity, and the spiritual fruits of this mystery is detachment. Jesus detached from Heaven to come to earth so we can detach from earthly things so we can get to Heaven. 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

I would urge context here: Jesus takes the time to reassure the disciples directly, telling them not to be "troubled." This comes from the same Greek root word describing Jesus' spirit in verses like John 11:33 and John 12:27. Much of what Jesus is about to say involves enduring hardship without losing trust. In practice, at least, this is a call for courage. it's clear that Christ is encouraging faith in God, and in Himself, in the face of what's about to come.

@@KeithNester I’m a nerd for context. I dont see wrong with us applying trust like this in “general”. When i read this section its so emotional. This is before they commit some heart gutting sins. We all identify with them here. We all become stronger after we fail because he increases our faith from failure. Im reading through John again and was listening to Crimson Tide sound track during this section. Ever read like that? It makes it so theatrical. It can increase the moments impact. They had just seen him heal so many, raise the dead, walk on water, they were in the company of superman. I guess what im saying is general implication is one thing but the POWER of the contextual moment should be kept in mind. My Goodness, they still didn’t understand and he still encouraging them. What they must’ve felt. Imagine if they had known isaiah 53 as he is saying this. Imagine how emotional that would’ve been. Imagine how emotional it was for Jesus. I can’t imagine how much he had to hold back. What he was about to GALACTICALLY accomplish? This is creation of the universe level power about to happen. Like Superman flying for the first time type feeling. As i said…i get nerdy about this. We all deserve the trash can. And the perfect God does this. He must have been very personable.

Not sure how well the music fits for this, it has to much of a creepy, spooky, sinister, sort of vibe, to me it spoiled the preaching, at mass Father doesn't preach to music, so Why is Keith doing it, if there does need to be Music should probably be Gregorian Chant, or Keith's usual little accoustic.guitar piece, don't see much point in a backing track behind the preaching really, seems an unnecessary over production
