I love this video 🤩 the only thing is that some of us don’t have a choice about whether the water is warm or cold when washing our horses. My horse appreciates the cold water after a long hack or training session. If I’d have the option I’d choose to wash my horse in warm but unfortunately I don’t

I love when Chase uses his left hoof to speak. I think he likes the warm water you used on him. I know horses do not like cold water. Matt, you are the only person I know who keeps his horse so clean. I love it and I think Chase loves it too. Great video.

What you say about it's not fair to wash your horse cold I tend to disagree. Humans dry quicker as we don't have a coat. When it's cold and you was your horse with warm water is it nice at the time but it will cool down really quick. When you wash it with cold water the temperature of the horse is higher, so it won't get colder after you finish washing your horse. With my old horse I used to be able to tell a difference, if I washed him with warm water I could notice the next day he was a bit more stiff needed to warm up longer riding. I believe that is because of cooling down quick after a warm ''shower''. Didn't have this when I washed him with cold water.. :)

The funny part about this is if that was me I would be soaked through when washing the horse 😂😂

Usually at my barn we shower my lesson horse with cold water on a super hot day after she works hard.

I agree with warm water but in summer in Australia (where I live) we use cold water to cool them down after a lesson and we also give them a little clean while we are at it. Also when cleaning with shampoo I use a brush instead of a sponge aswell

I think you are awesome and have a little tip to improve (I believe) on your mane cheat (I've had horses that couldn't tolerate mane pulling). I do love the scissor technique (trim up to crest) the only thing I would do different is use thinning scissors, I prefer the ones that have one straight edge. When you use these the mane appears to be pulled (more natural). I love how positive you are and how much your horses obviously love you. Keep up the good work! Many blessings, Terry Wright

That's more a horse spa. That's one pampered horse.

I like using one of those soft jelly currys to curry the shampoo into their coat whenever I give a horse a bath. Funny thing though is there is human shampoo/condition(Sauve to be exact!) for their mane/tail in the wash stalls! I've used it on tails before and then put some type of detangler like Cowboy Magic and their tails get silky soft!

I'm definitely going to try all of these when show season starts

At my yard we don't have hot water running for the horses so we use the inside tap or we cold shower them 😯

Careful using that much shampoo. A lot of the time it can strip the skin of its natural oils and dry it out. I have not used the products that you are using so it could be absolutely fine.
