Notice after he got the 10 k himself, he stated that receiving the money was life changing. That means he too needed the money but chose to give it to someone else! Amazing soul.
That was how I felt about it. He thought I would rather give someone $10,000 which could do even more for them than $1000 could do for me. It’s a decision most people wouldn’t have made. It was beautiful to see.

No judgment at all for the ones who took the money for themselves, you never know what kind of situation a person is in. That could have been the day that they needed it the most. I was still hoping the whole time that someone was going to choose to give it away, I would have. Being kind and selfless is a reward in itself. All the guys in this video are incredible people.
It is ALWAYS better to give than to receive... and that goes for whatever situation you find yourself in. God sees your deeds, He knows your heart, and He rewards a cheerful giver. That's a PROMISE we can stand on. If your heart is not right with God, know this... you can't do ANYTHING about it. You can't change your heart. Only God can do that. I don't really care for this experiment. I am totally someone who is uncomfortable taking money, so I would have passed 1k. However, that was when my life was somewhat normal, now I suffer from chronic pain, I can no longer work, all my older relatives are in a home or in need of assistance and I can no longer provide that assistance because I can't function on my own. It's really bad, we're in so much debt. I literally couldn't afford to pass up 1k. So at least in my point of view, you're privileged if you have the luxury to give hypothetical 1k away. I wish I was that privileged. And not because I could do something nice and get even more money. I'd rather have no money and be healthy.

If you give someone $10k it's pretty likely that they will spare a portion of it for you unless they're a sociopath or something. I would've easily chosen giving the $10k away it's not that deep he probably knew he'd be getting some sort of reward
maybe he wasn't as much in need as others in the video, when you can do without it just fine it's easy to give up on the guaranteed thousand just to make someone else happy, especially in a society where your wellbeing and wellbeing of your children is your sole responsibility
