What do railroaders call Thanksgiving?
Thursday.
While Thanksgiving dinners were being prepared all over the country, railroaders were away from their families, keeping the goods moving so that the blessings God has bestowed in abundance upon us can move from where they are to where they need to be.
In the 15 minutes I spent at the Downers Grove Main Street Metra station on the BNSF Racetrack, I saw four freight trains and one Metra train. No day off for the men and women who keep the economy moving!
Engineer Tom and Conductor Tom bring this 20-car train from the Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard to BNSF's Eola Yard.
