Full respect to the artist/writer for the current Ultimate X-Men book but I think I’d probably like this book better if it wasn’t called Ultimate X-Men.

Surprised that you guys look back so favorably on the original Ultimate line. Especially considering how a lot of the characters that were adapted ended up turning into either total scumbags or mass murderers. That alone is why I prefer this new line up over the old one.

Glad I didn't fuck with Ultimate X-Men. Beautiful art but I could tell it had nothing to do with X-Men. Green Lantern, G.O.D.S and Hulk were great so it's been a solid week. Still need to read Crocodile Black tho. Comics competes with videogame dlc for my money and this week comics won.
I have already read Ultimate Spider-Man #6, and I will say Wes will be happier with this issue then the last 2 he wasn't happy with. You get action galore with GG, Wilson Fisk, and Spider-Man. Major development regards to Peter and his family...Plus...and official naming. So there you go. Go out and get Ultimate Spider-man #6 and all the previous issue and really enjoy the best Ultimate book in the line...although I have to say Ultimates #1 was good. Not great. In some ways the FCBD story was more enticing and fun, but issue #1 gets the ball rolling and presents some good problems for our heroes to face off and solve. WTF20. (Hated Ultimate X-Men #1 from start...complete turn off. NOT even close to a X-Book.)
Peach Momoko has been the most over hyped artist since 2020. Her hype and popularity has lasted longer than Skottie Young lol. I respect her grind and hustle as an artist. Because I am an artist. But in my opinion she is very overrated. And hit the "lottery" ( catching lightning in a bottle and becoming a sensation very quickly)as an artist. I knew exactly what the Ultimate X-Men book was going to be based on her X-Men Demon Days one shots. Shw is not an X-Men writer. She doesn't know the X-Men.
Scottie had some talent. I remember seeing him doing a story in strange tales with wolverine and I was hooked on his art. Too bad once he did a chibi variant cover I rarely saw him do anything in his old style. I get that covers are where the big bucks are but I'm pissed at what could've been.
Honestly I don't really like that Hank's whole deal is him trying to avoid behaving like his main universe counterpart. Call it multiverse fatigue, but I would rather have him deal with issues relating to the ULTIMATE universe.
Ultimate Xmen looks like they just slapped the name Xmen onto a manga. I just picked up my Transformer and Saturday Morning TNMT Usagi Yojimbo. I’m now worried about Transformers after what Drew said. I guess I’ll have to read that first and the Saturday Morning second so I won’t be depressed.
Yeahhh, Idk why they wouldn’t just let her continue the Demon Days story but I did create some new readers this week via the Image Firsts line. I gave like 8 of my favorite indies to the dudes at the dispensary and they were super excited.
I'm loving Ultimate X. I agree it's coasting on the brand and its probably pissing people off. But as an anime style comic it's great. I'm expecting Mae Storm (Malstrom?) Will stick. I think I'm enjoying it so much because of how dissapointed I've been in the Krakoa era & Hellfire gala books.
Ultimate Black Panther doesn't make any sense anyway. Why did the Maker leave Wakanda and the Black Panther line to play out as normal instead of wiping it like the rest of the other heroes?
For Sinister Sons, I like that Sinson and Lor-Zod were taken in by Sinestro to New Korugar so that they’ll have a chat. Also, Sinson getting a haircut and wanting to see if Sinestro is his father. Overall, this is a good comic! For Blue Beetle, The good things about this comic are Jaime and Khaji defeating the pinnacle with help from Ted and Victoria (even though it was rushed that she made a mistake in this comic) and the Horizon. I find it bold for Jaime to tell Victory to leave Palmera City because of what she did. Let’s hope that the final issue will end on a high note and see what are Ted and Jaime doing after this. Overall, this comic is good! For Batman and Robin, I like Bruce, Damian, and Flatline saved Kurt from his Man-bat side and tried to help him in Arkham. I feel bad that Flatline didn’t tell Damian about Ra’s Al Ghul because she wanted to protect him from herself and Ra’s and that she cares for him. Let’s hope that Damian will figure out the truth (and/or Flatline will tell him the truth) about Ra’s so that they’ll do something about it and that Damian can forgive her. Also, Bruce cooking breakfast for Damian and making him if he and Flatline are dating. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Goliath (who last appeared in the Adam Glass Teen Titans run) and Maya Ducard (who last appeared in Super Sons and a cameo of The Terrifics with Kathy Branden Beacon). Let’s hope that we’ll see her and her platonic interactions with Damian in the next few issues of this comic. Let’s also hope that Damian and Bruce would find and fight Bane to avenge Alfred and get justice. Overall, this comic is great! For Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age, I like that we get to see a version of Jonathan and Marta Kent witness the ship crash on Earth before they raised Clark as their own son since his arrival in 1860. I also like that we get to see Bruce be active as Batman and encounter Catwoman and Talia Al Ghul in 1893. Overall, this is a good comic that marks the return and 35th anniversary of the Elseworlds imprint! For Kate’s solo adventures, the good things about this comic is seeing Kate encountering and befriending Jinny Hex, the ghost of Jonah Hex telling Kate and Jinny about his adventures and how Jinny got her abilities, and Jenny Crisis telling Kate about something and getting used to her powers. I like that we see Kate have her own solo adventures where she encountered Jinny before they became allies and friends. I also like that we get to see Jinny, since she her story hasn’t been explored since Bendis’ Young Justice and her special four years ago. The one thing I can criticize is Kate rejoining Wildstorm’s Outsiders because it’s unnecessary for her to join and that I prefer her having adventures in Gotham with the Batman Family. Overall, this comic is good, and let’s hope that we see the return of the Original Wildstorm Universe very soon. For Green Lantern, I like that Carol was able to save Hal’s life and admit her feelings for him because they realize that they love each other and never let them go, although I feel bad that Nate was left at the alter since he was a nice guy. I hope that Nate will understand all of this and would not blame her for what she did as well as find someone to love and cherish for a long time. The surprising (or unsurprising) thing about this comic is Tharros working for Waller because Absolute Power. I hope that the upcoming events ends with Waller getting her comeuppance from all of the villains of all DC titles, the Suicide Squad, the superhero community, and the civilians of Gamorra. Overall, this comic is great! For the Guy Gardner backup, I thought it was hilarious that Guy and the fake Lobo teamed up to free themselves, with Guy as a delivery man before he pretended to be Czarnian. For Dreamer defying Waller and the Suicide Squad, the good things about this comic are Nia defeating members of the Suicide Squad (i.e. Clock King, Harley Quinn, and Black Alice), telling Bizarro that he’s not a weapon, and momentarily defying Waller. I feel bad that she was forced to join Waller’s task force because of what she did to her family. I hope that she and the rest of the superhero community will defeat Waller and save the entire superhero community from her wrath in Absolute Power. I also hope that she’ll tell Jay Nakamura (who is useless, bland, and unnecessary) everything about this so that he’ll have revenge on Waller for killing his mom and ruling Gamorra and to make him interesting and transform into a villain (or ruthless character). Overall, this comic is great, and I hope that we’ll see Nia in other DC comics after Absolute Power aside from appearing in pride anthologies every year. For ASM: Blood Hunt, I like that Peter, Colleen, and Lizard have to work together to defeat vampires and deal with Maxine Danger from the Beyond Corporation and save Morbuis and Misty from harm. Overall, this is a good comic that tried to unnecessarily deal with the Beyond Corporation. Also, Morbin’ time reference! For Deadpool, The great things about this comic are Wade and Princess fighting Crossbones, Ellie saving Wade from Crossbones and showing her powers to him, Ellie and Princess learning that they’re sisters, Taskmaster not okay with him becoming Ellie’s stepfather if Wade dies, and Ellie getting trained by Taskmaster via boot camp. I like that Wade, Princess, and Ellie were having a family bond because it shows that they love each other and will spend time together. It’s unexpectedly and ridiculously wholesome and sweet! Overall, this is all great comic! For Fantastic Four, I like that Reed and Alicia were able to visit NYC’s Museum of Art before they were able to fight vampires and save the people in the museum before they talked about what’s going to happen with their kids. It’s nice! Overall, this is a good comic! For Giant Size Daredevil, it’s interesting that Fisk has to kill or injure people and assassins broke Matt and Elektra plan on defeating him in the upcoming issue of Daredevil. Overall, this is a good comic that celebrates the 60th anniversary of Daredevil! For Miles Morales, I like that Miles tried to control himself from his vampire form while fighting Blade and teaming up with Hightail. It’s interesting and unique! For Scarlet Witch, I like that Wanda has to deal with magic/slice to life stuff before encountering The Griever At the End of All Things from Dan Scott’s Fantastic Four run. Also, Darcy needing Pierto’s help to save Wanda from harm and the world from destruction. Overall, this is an interesting comic! For Spider-Boy, I like that Peter was able to undo the experiment and separate almost everyone from their animal counterparts, including Bailey’s mom. I feel bad that Bailey had to get used to the fact that his mom had no memory of him. I feel worse that the Puzzle Man accidentally erased a picture of him and his mom before he needed the Spider Society’s help to make all of Earth-616 remember him. Let’s hope that the Spider Society will tell Bailey that they can’t use the Web of Life to let all the people from Earth-616 remember him because of consequences and that he’ll learn to deal with the responsibilities of being forgotten by everyone in the next issue/arc before the Spider-Society miniseries (aka another Spider-Verse event) starts. For Shadow of the Green Goblin, I feel bad that in 1962, Peter and Aunt May have to cope with Uncle Ben’s death, that Captain and Gwen Stacy realize that they might lose Gwen’s mother Helen, that Emily told her son Harry that she met Norman in college in 1946 (since she was barely 20 and married Norman and had Harry in 1947) and want to kill Norman to have Harry back, and Proto-Goblin telling Norman the truth about Emily and where Harry is. Let’s hope that Peter’s next encounter with the Proto-Goblin involves him sympathizing him for losing his family and making sure that he doesn’t have to go through with this alone. Overall, this comic is good! For Strange Academy: Blood Hunt, it’s interesting that members of Strange Academy have to fight vampires after learning that their new friend Pia is a vampire before they encountered the Darkhold, who told them that he wants to experience what it’s like being a human to learn about humanity and that Agatha Harkness wants to use him for power. It’s surprising that this issue ends with Doctor Doom helping them and Pia and the Darkhold disappearing into someplace else. Let’s hope that they can save the world, find Pia and the Darkhold, and make sure that Agatha will come to her senses. Overall, this is a good comic!
Good video Wes 👍 I enjoy Ultimate X-Men. It was supposed to be radically different. I'm glad there is no Wolverine or Cyclops. I think people will have a more positive opinion of this book 10 years from now.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we get more classic X-Men as the series goes on. Maybe for some reason they end up going to Germany and meet Nightcrawler. Or maybe Wolverine isn’t dead after all and is living in Japan.
@@CoreyAdolfi FCD the ultimates issue show there was skeleton call weapon x where the ultimates invade stored place that house archive of marvel characters. So it's unlikely if wolverine is alive. In this universe.

Why couldn't they just get Claremont or an A-list to write Ultimate X-Men? Peach Momoko literally admitted she didn't read much X-Men and apologized for it. Marvel will hire people that know NOTHING of their ips to write them. It is beyond embarrassing. I don't want to read something that looks like a random Japanese comic, I want to read X-MEN. You know, Professor X's Mutant Champions who protect the world from evil mutants and etcetera?
Claremont barely seems to care about writing anything new set in the current X-Men continuity, let alone an alternative version of the 616 X-Men. In the past years, he wrote minis and one shots set long before Krakoa as an addition to stories he was the author of, like Wolverine Madripoor Knights and the Gambit mini.
@@spinningtornado4543 For starters, Ultimate X-Men is a new start, not mired in continuity from 30 some years of other writers. And Claremont in the past has come back to mainline X-Men and even recently wrote that one story in X-Men 35. If you gave him full creative control he will be pretty darn happy.
@@Oeeshik I know Ultimate X-Men isn't part of main continuity, that's the whole point of the Ultimate universe. I was highlighting that Claremont doesn't write for alternative universes hence why he wasn't hired for Ultimate X-Men. Other than the examples I listed, Claremont came back for some stories in X-Men legends that read slightly out of character, wrote one issue in the Krakoa era for Hellions set in the first Hellfire Gala and that X-Men 35 short story felt like it came way too late and contradicts the setting it's in.
I have no idea what they were thinking with that Ultimate X-Men comic, it looks nothing like an X-Men comic. They obviously had a pitch from her and they just slapped the X-Men title on it.

I agree with Green Lantern being the best DC book, but I would say Fantastic Four was the best Marvel book this week. I wasn't too fussed on Avengers. I also agree with you on Ultimate X-Men. Momoko strayed a bit too far from the source material. This isn't X-Men at all.
i am enjoying Ultimate Xmen for what it brings. Yeah, its not really an xmen book in the traditional sense, but I am looking at this new ultimate universe as a hard reset and anything can happen.
I guess I'm the odd man out because Ultimate X-Men has been great. I don't understand Drew's complaints (because that's what they sound like). Expecting traditional X-Men tropes to show up in a more grounded origin for the X-Men is setting yourself up for failure.
That's why the comic book market will continue to shrink. It's the same demographic who cannot accept anything new or different. The manga market excels by introducing new concepts and encouraging creativity, these people who live in the past continue to demand old characters, old storyline, which contributes to the death of the western comic book market.
I haven't read it but I find myself conflicted on what I'm hearing concerning Ultimate X-Men. On the one hand I think Marvel should be praised for trying something so different, looking to things in manga, and just going in for that. On the other, I see the complaint that is seems to have nothing to do with anything remotely related to X-Men and should be it's own book. I don't know, perhaps it should bring forward more male characters to balance the female leads? Unless magical girl/horror/silce of life manga is the point? At least Marvel is taking a genuine creative risk
That Absolute Power tie in at the end of Green Lantern 12 was a real nut crunch. It brought the issue to a stand still. Unfortunately I feel like this is the weakest issue of the series. Hopefully it picks up from next issue.
it's funny they have female teenager comics in japan but they're not this boring. and none of these books even have art that interest me. i remember back in the 90's almost every book had high end art i wanted to emulate, but the best one on here now was... green lantern? and it still feels like less than it should be. and lol, the dog is the best character. haha. reminds me of the nostalgia critic meme of 'but did boomer live?'
This whole new Ultimate line is a boring dud. I loved the OG Ultimate line and continued liking various ultimate stuff right up until the time Hickman was writing Ultimates (lame run.) This Ultimate line is limp noodle comic books.
She was full vampire, until Quentin Quire creed her using the Phoenix Force, which also gave her back her mutant powers (which she has been missing since the Scarlett Which went insane )
Is it me or is ultimate Spider-Man like Spider-Man 2099? The only character with an alternate book that sells better than all the rest! At least till we get an Ultimate Doctor Doom, book!
I'll continue and just consider it like something not X-Men or marvel like G.O.D.S. i like those titles but should be at Image or Boom! And dissociated to the marvel universe.
Really Enjoyed the third issue of Usagi Yojimbo of The Crow. Issue #3 of Batman The First Knight fizzled to a weak and flat ending. Sad finish to a terrific start.

The panel last panel we see Cliffjumper in just gave me chills. I think I like Jorge Corona's art better than DWJ's. I just like things rendered a little more tightly on my Transformers book. Geiger was great! Loved the flashback sequence with Barney.
I saw Dan Watters is joining the Energon universe. Love his writing after his great Azrael mini series. Hopefully it gives his star a rise and we get a 2nd Azrael mini as well.
On Green Lantern, you forgot to mention that Kyle is transitioning into his cloaked version from GL War Journal. We've seen more guys that looked like that alternate Kyle this issue and in a previous one. I'm curious to see how that unfolds and what those guys actually are. Too bad that and stopping Thaaros will take a backseat for Absolute Power.
Damn, I do know if I wrote X-Men I would have six teams not including xfactor, xforce. First it would be the fall out of X. Which sets the stage except the x-men stop being school mentors. A lot of mutants scatter out in the world. Blue is cyclops team dealing with world wide events starting with a brainwashed avalanche attacking Atlantis. Yellow is Storm leading a team to Mars but get lost along the way, Fang gets to wear his dads yellow and blue uniform. Red is Nightcrawlers team dealing with mutants being in conflict, trying to follow legal ways. First case is Maggott getting attacked. Green is Shadowcat recruiting mutants to the cause and seeing if they are worth being heroes or not. White is the five exploring the world and curing mutants that are too op, they deal with life and death, Rockslide is the clueless character that asks all the questions. Black is the school making a team to defend the school from any threat plus introducing new characters who will gradually standout. Each team will be rocking their colors in uniform. Blue (World Threats) - Cyclops, Jean Grey, Ice-Man, Magik, Synch, Talon, Triage, Manifold, Namor and Avalanche Yellow (Universe) - Storm, Beast, Psylocke, Gambit, Rogue, Fang, Blink, Gentle, Cypher and Warlock Red (Mutant problems) - Nightcrawler, Emma Frost, Wolverine, Sunfire, Banshee, Thunderbird (og), Jubilee, Maggott, Scanner and Pulse Green (Recruitment) - Shadowcat, Colossus, Angel, Chamber, Mercury, Lifeguard, Slipstream, Caliban, Sunspot and Bolt White (The Five) - Hope, Egg, Proteus, Tempus, Elixir, Legion, Exodus, Sage, Rockslide and Forget me not Black (School Team) - Cannonball, Prodigy, Surge, Armor, Warpath, Skids, Xorn, Zorn, Spyke (X-Men evolution) and Khora of the burning heart
If you are going to rightfully bash Zeb Wells', Spider-Man, you need to read and recommend an engrossing take by the wtiter who gave us "Kraven' s Last Hunt" and the emotional deaths of Harry and Aunt May.
I just read the ultimates and wolverine blood hunt and i had fun with those. Im not a huge fan of juan frigeri but i really like like how sexy wasp looked. And i like how the ultimates feels different and unique than the avengers without changing too much. And for some reason this comic got me more interested in wasp and sif than in the movies. I really like the team up and the colors and i didn't expect a dynamic between iron lad and captain Britain too be what we needed. And i really like guru efx colors on juan jose ryp's art. And i really liked the twist in the ending of wolverine blood hunt and i really liked the art in w bloodhunt. Marvel really needs to hire tom waltz more or valiant should hire him. And i would really like for there to be a ultimate antman and wasp title. And im coming back for ultimate Spiderman at #6 where Spiderman fights kingpin and marco the artist comes back please be good because spidey is my favorite hero and i enjoyed #1 and 3. I tried to look for falling in love to path to hell because i really dig the idea of a relationship with a female samurai and a cowboy but i couldn't find it so i didn't get it but im fine. And i enjoyed u xmen but i do understand your complaints. I really like comics that are fast paced or quick or both. And rook exodus is the best idea executed comic of the year. I wished #3 released already. Anyways comics are very fun when in the right mood and right time and with the right artist and writers.
i gave up on Ultimate X Men after 1 issue. No connection to Spider-man and the other Ultimate titles. Black Panther isn't bad, a cool take where Moon Knight is the villian.
Ultimates #1 was pretty good. I really didn't much care for the poor pacing in Ultimate X-Men, so i was hesitant to get into another, but Ulrimate's was a good Avengers book
Based on what I am seeing, Ultimate X-Men feels more like a Magical Girl/slice of life manga, even the concept of being a mutant it seems to be very different, like is not the result of genetic mutation but like something else. I won't lie, the idea is interesting, but I feel like it should not be titled Ultimate X-Men, if Peach Momoko plan of making the series with X-teams and saving the world and of course people fearing them, well, we will have to wait a lot to reach to that point, if that is the goal. So far, this is something very very different from I would expect from an X-Men comic.
I really liked Peach Momoko's Demon Days books, so I think if they were going to go down this route they should have just made her Ultimate book into an ongoing in that Demon Days universe. The X-Demons line would be cool in my opinion and would allow her to be as experimental as she wants while maybe leading her own line of Youkai Marvel books. I mean, it's really weird to have an X book, and not really have mutants or any classic X-Men. We got Armor and an original change, but why not Surge or Mariko yet? Where's Sunfire, or even a non-Japanese X-Men? It doesn't even have a school for the 'gifted' yet. Her world seems cool, but it's not even trying to be an X-book.
It's heavily implied that The Maker had killed a lot of heroes that would get knocked the way of him controlling Earth-6160 (New Ultimate Universe). That's why a lot of the more recognizable X-Men, like Xavier and Magento, aren't around. There are some mutants alive, like Storm and Armor, who flew under the radar because he deemed them as unimportant and there are a few mutants that helped him control the world and orchestrate fake wars to make the world think there is a singular "bad guy".
Imagine Marvel reboot the ultimates ultimate cap america will be cancel. He hates the french hes racist lol and hes very conservative current marvel don't like that xd.

All I can say, Is I disagree with you. I love the Ultimate line and I find it just as good as the old Ultimate line. I actually like Ultimate X-men because it is different. I always felt the old Ultimate X-men was just redoing the normal X-men. To me the ultimite line should be different then the normal line.
"Jubilee has a Bloodhunt tie in for reasons no one knows." Um Jubilee was a vampire for a period of time. Xmen has a bit of renewed interest because of Xmen97 and Jubilee got some spotlight. Also there were characters that cured her of her vampirism so maybe they show up? I will say this though, despite her being a vampire for a good chunk of time, people probably don't know she was a vampire. People talk about bad Xmen comics that have been coming out since after Hickman but people forget Xmen weren't doing well long before Hickman. Hickman gave Xmen a surge of interest in a pretty much bland brand (with Avengers Vs Xmen being an exception). Jubilee being a vampire was sometime after House of M where she was one of the mutants who lost their mutant abilities. So they made her a vampire.
A lot of Dragonball Z fans and Goku fans hate Superman and think that Goku is way better than Superman because they think that Superman is cheesy, corny, and lame. They think that Goku is awesome and much more powerful, and stronger than Superman, so they don't understand why anyone would ever want to read a comic book of Superman when watching Dragonball Z anime is so much cooler. I personally don't agree that Superman is cheeseball, cornball and lame ass, but then again, a lot of comic book readers in general don't like Superman these days, so people like me are in the minority.
@@DarthDread-oh2ne I do, too. But there have been times when Japanese anime fans have called American comic book fans stupid for liking Superman instead of liking Goku. It's become this idiotic thing over the years ever since the 1990s. I don't know why. It's dumb to me because in all honesty, if Superman and Goku were to actually meet, I don't think that they would be fighting each other. Their personalities are very similar in that that they are principled, and scrupulous super heroes. So more than likely they would be joining forces against super-villains as a team. But I guess some people need to be having a rivalry about everything. 🤷♂️
I'm 50 & grew up reading X-world in the early Copper Age. . . just read Ultimate X 4 and I dig it. . .do you want it to look like all of the crappy X books from the last few years you dislike so much? It's nice to see a completely fresh take imho. . .it's an Armor origin story in a different universe set in a completely different culture written by someone who's intimately familiar with that culture. . .why would or should it be filled with musclebound legacy characters pounding on each other with ubiquitous explosions? Maybe it's just cuz so much other Marvel stuff is garbage but I find it refreshing personally :)
There's some serious revisionist history going on with the original Ultimate line. Spider-Man wasn't even Spider-Man 4 issues into the original USM lol. I will give you that Ultimate X-Men, at least so far, very much feels like it's own thing compared to the rest of the Ultimate Universe. It feels like it was just an excuse to give Peach Momoko free reign to do whatever she wanted. But I don't care? It might not be what you're expecting from X-Men, but as someone with no expectations its a fascinating book that I'm always eager to get the next issue of. Can't say I agree at all with the Ultimate Universe being disappointing. It's been 4 hits for me. BP is a little less because it doesn't feel Ultimate compared to the others, but USM is perfect, Ultimates was great, and UXM is fascinating. You just have to be willing to let them breath a bit and not demand fisticuffs every issue.
I agree with you people are rushing for some action. I like the slow burn taking its time building this new universe and let us get to know the characters. I love ubp since that book is my first BP comic and I heard the mainline BP isn't good right now.
@@jeromemaida4933 mmmm, I'm not sure that's correct. Maybe. But there is a a current X-Men book with normal X-Men in it, and even if the Krakoa stuff has left you cold they're going more traditional now. With Spider-Man just writing a proper Spider-Man is a big draw because we mostly haven't had that for fifteen years. And if anything that's how you bring back an OLD audience. New Audience would take new things, I would think.
@@valiantparagonvideos2383 When Bendis and Bagley did Spider-Man about 2 decades ago, they appealed to newer fans AND older fans. Everything was more modern but the character was still recognizable and had the traits that have made him universally appealing.
Wes, Unless I missed it somewhere, you have yet to give "Spider-Man: Shadow of the Green Goblin" any love and I just don't understand it. Fantastic writing. Gorgeous art. An emotional, psychological story that also has cool action scenes,! Fresh takes on Gwen, Harry, Captain Stacy, a far-from-overused villain AND a shocking surprise!
Regarding Ultimate X-Men. I understand your frustration, but from what the intro says it's building to something grand dystopian story. At least that's what I'm taking from it. I'm still fairly new to comics as I've only read Watchmen, Book 1 of Sandman, Darth Vader (2017), and a couple other titles so my opinion is probably not worth much. Growing up I binged the X-Men cartoon and at some point, I'm def going to read Chris Claremont's X-Men and other X-Men comics. Ultimate X-Men will do great in the long run if there is more substance in the writing instead of this slow-burning; building the team nonsense.
