Yep, I like to think of it as they Play to win, NOT to beat the other players. (i.e. happy to point out better plays for the others even if it hurts themselves.)
Reading about this on BGG I was mildly interested. After watching you guys play it I'm really impressed. I'll be buying yet another game thanks to your guys wonderful plays! Btw love the language or the lack there of. Very professional thank you for keeping it fun and clean.
I like complex games, but I also play a lot with my old parents. The older they get, the harder it is to have them learn complex interactions. So Splendor is way better for that kind of public. This is more of a gamer's game then a casual game. But, even with its simplicity, Splendor is still a very fun game, even for gamers. Century : the spice road would be a good inbetween.

I've never noticed Dave 'suggest' so many turns to Nikki before. It's sweet you try and help Dave, but let the woman take her own turn lol. I like the look of this game. I saw another reviewer suggest any idiot could play it, but it seems to have a fair bit going on. I use the MIL Scale and I don't think my MIL would grasp this one. Definitely on my buy list though. Thanks as always guys.
I agree he also displays a lot if micro-aggressions for her confusion. The game state of the game changes frequently and if this was her first time playing it could be overwhelming as your strategy can be easily derailed within a moments notice.
I think Dave kibbutzes Nikki the most simply because he’s sitting next to her. If he were sitting next to Lincoln or Rusty, he’d make as many suggestions/explanations to them.

I didn't expect to like this game since I imagined it would just be a simpler Century Spice Road. But after demo'ing it at Gencon, I wanted to buy it immediately. Surprisingly fun and satisfying!!!
This game looks really fun! You've all sold it to me :) However, the marbles (even though I LOVE them) are a gimmick. You can get the same exact mechanic with a regular deck of cards (assuming there are 13 of each color you could make each suit a color) or a bag of tokens. I may use the deck of cards in situations when I want to travel with the game or maybe use uno cards just to avoid losing marbles. Just deal out six cards or tokens for the pick and then replenish with the deck or bag. The top card of the deck is random and a pick from the bag is also random.
On second thought, the bag of tokens would be preferable to a deck of cards as you would be shuffling the cards every time someone paid for something (not impossible just annoying).
This game is getting tons of hype and it's combo building, which is one of my favorite things, but watching it did not hook me at all. Might need to play this one to get a feel for it.
Nice game, love to have it. I will surely buy it. It is like Splendor but much complex. The video is very helpfull for new players. Thank you, it is very relaxing and funny watching you guys playing. The game should end sooner, at 53:20 when Lincoln had 16 cards, but doesn't mather. Also, if i was Nikki, at 47:50, i would have picked 5 blue marbles. Then, on my next turn i would have research 5 level III cards (like Dave sugested) , hoping i would get any blue level III card to build because at that point i would have 6 blue + 1 red marble which can be converted to 14 blue.
Nope, you didn't miss anything, I think I boned it. I think I used the two black convert one too many times. I'm still trying to see what I was thinking from the tableau I had out, but I can't make it work right now.
The game should have been over at 53:15 - Lincoln kept miscounting his cards and saying he had one less. The card he built on that turn was his 16th, not his 15th
16:00 when Dave built a battery pick card, he should have not used its pick effect, as far as I know, the gizmo effect does not get activated on the turn you build it, so he could only take the pick without the random draw as it was just built. if I am wrong please comment and explain

Ooooh, I know this one! I used to run a t-shirt company called Game Ink with a buddy of mine, and this was one of our shirts. It was some real nostalgia seeing this shirt, as we closed the business about 9 years ago now.
49:08 Lincoln spend 3 red instead of 2 to buy a red card and at some point when Dave ask how many cards he have he said 13 instead of 14 cause he forgot to count the starting card but oh well.....😅🤷🏻♂️
The "triggers" don't have to be taken at the moment you are entitled to it, but simply mean, "if you did [x] at any time during this turn, you may do [y]", correct?

Devin, Aaron moved out of town at the beginning of the year so we can only have him on when he's back in town. We have a few episodes coming that feature Aaron. --Lincoln
I own and enjoy Wingspan which is very similar mechanically, the theme of wingspan is far better for me and looks to be the superior game so I think I’ll skip on this(although it looks really fun)... great video as always
I never read the comments so forgive me if this has been discussed ad nauseam ... what happened to Aaron? No offense to Rusty... In fact I like his play style as it is closest to my own.
Glad to see the game play. I was interested in this at first but after watching the game play I completely lost interest. Within the first five minutes of the rules I was already saying “what? “Way too many icons, too many cards to remember. Not conducive to gateway gaming.
got to agree on that. i put this game into the category of....what regular gamers think is a gateway game but is actually far too convoluted for the light or casual player
Nice playthrough. But for the buzz this game gets, it looks rather uneventful and very mechanical. A bit like Imothep, i never got why that game is interesting either.
