Yes! The glr is super good! Especially when you're new to 1/28 pan car chassis. It was a big upgrade from the mr03 and even the pnr 2.5 with lipos. The GT I only drove it little bit so I can't give a good impression about it.
In stock form the primary issue with the GT is the rear suspension as you pointed out. The RX505 conversion is ESSENTIAL with this car. It is just a waste of time to try tuning the car without it.
Thanks for the infos about the rear suspension. I was about to order a GLR-GT these days. Now i think it over again. I have to consider the availability of alternatives. I‘m looking forward to more of your following videos and what you think of the conversion. If you knew and wouldn‘t have the GLR-GT now, what alternative chassis would you order?
Thank you. I haven't driven the other cars yet, so I can only say what I've read/seen. If you are looking for the fastest 1/28 rwd car today, it's probably the Reflex Racing RX28. It's seeing constant improvements and innovations. I would say GLR with some MWX performance parts is seeing good results. Atomic MRZ Pro should also be a good choice. That said, GT+RX505 is supposedly a solid performer. I will definitely say more about that when I have a chance to test it out.
@@sammybaka thanks for your answer! I‘ve seen the reflex today and i like it. The chassis is more expensive but, i won‘t buy a car like that every other day😁 i‘m completely unexperienced in racing, but i really like these cars, the looks, to build it, the materials since i was a kid. I enjoy building and looking at it more than driving😂
@@mlugin8050 Yes the rx28 does look expensive, but I think it's not too bad in practice because out of the box it comes with a lot of good parts already so people won't have to buy upgrades for (e.g: brass chassis, aluminum parts, adjustable shocks, etc).
Thank you and sorry about the subtitle issue. I need to find a better way to render the subtitles. I'm also considering doing actual voice overs in the video, but not sure yet. I haven't tried it out yet.
Hi, for driving on a track as a beginner, I would start with a Mini-Z MR-03 because it's well supported and tuned more consistently. It's a great way to practice and improve driving skills, and there are box stock race classes for it. If you are experienced in building and racing RC, I would suggest an GLR. If you want to try the deep end of the pool, I'd say Reflex Racing RX-28, GLR + MWX builder's kit, or GLR-GT + RX505 conversion (video on this soon!). These will be very fast cars but will require some skills to reach their potential.
@@xyber2k6 I will try, even when I really don't need another track car 😎. Based on photos alone, there are a few welcomed improvements to the design, such as dust covers for the dampers, lower CG dampers and motor pod, and adjustable front shocks out of the box. We don't have a price yet so we will have to wait and see.
RX28 is much better (faster and easier to drive) than GLR-GT in stock form. GT's pivoting rear suspension geometry makes the rear traction quite twitchy and difficult to handle. My GT has been upgraded with reflex' RX505 tri-damper conversion, and it's become a much better chassis. If you are looking at getting a 1:28 rwd chassis, RX28 is better than all the GL options. Accounting for parts you dont need to upgrade with RX28, it's quite reasonable cost-wise too vs GL cars which all require some upgrade parts to compete. Other 1:28 rwd options to consider are Atomic MRZ (SF or EX) and MWX R.1.
As my second car, I am just trying to decide between MRZ SF and RX28... The Aluminium Front on the SF looks so stable... I am wondering if the RX28 can be similar....
@@dominikdrnek2529 By all accounts, MRZ-SF is a good chassis and as a bonus the price is good. RX28 comes in 2 different frontends: RX28 (with double wishbone front suspension) and RX28K (sliding coil over king pins like MRZ-SF). RX28K is similar to MRZ-SF and shares the same benefits.
@@MultiAp101 In this video, I'm running PN KS soft low-profile slick 11mm tires, but normally I run standard 8.5mm tires, PN KS medium low-profile slick (KS1038).
