I think we may have found our new favorite lake! Glacier Lake is just off the PCT in Washington's Alpine Lakes Wilderness. We hiked 4th of July Weekend, and there was very little snow.
The trail we took up Mineral Creek was about 8 miles each way, and right around 4000' elevation gain. At about 6 miles, we hiked a short stretch of the PCT before a steep descent to the lake. We initially hoped to continue on past Glacier toward Chikamin Lake/Peak, but Glacier Lake was so nice and we were tired, and we just stayed right there.
If you're planning to do this hike, don't forget the eleventh essential - bug spray. Whenever the wind died down, the swarms were out to get you.
