I moved to Talkeetna, Alaska from Texas 15 years ago and have flown this tour 6 times... it is stunning... one of the 10 best things I've done in my 62 years. If you live local and work with the public in the summer you get a special rate provided they have extra space -- and if you have the time off as it is crazy busy in Talkeetna in the summer... I am newly retired this year and am currently planning a build in my van for playing tourist this summer! I turn 63 in May and plan to be on the road headed north by then. I can't hardly wait!
I love your travel videos, different from others on youtube that just keep talking the whole video. What I love about your video is the music, the slow motion for some shots and your energy. Great cinematographic!!! Keep up the good works 👏🏻👍👍👍
We're from Texas as well. I did the flight solo in 2021 and talked the wife into doing the flight in 2022. The views are absolutely amazing. This is definitely a bucket list item if you ever visit Alaska. Our plan is to go again in 2024. I took well over 1,000 photos on my first flight as the weather was absolutely gorgeous.
Absolutely stunning video. Can't wait for more from this series! When I heard the radio communication starting from 4:15, I was immediately curious how you recorded this. It made such a great atmosphere too. Putting the lavalier mic in the headset is genius. Thank you for explaining this! Also, when Justin was joking around at 2:30 it somehow hit me. Thinking back of all the times he appeared in your vlogs (helping the hikers in Croatia, for example) - Justin is an extremely kind person, isn't he?
Haha I’m glad, I left in that sequence specifically because I hoped some techy out there was curious about the pilot’s voice recordings. Justin’s the calmest, most level headed person I know in basically any circumstance. Thanks for watching!
this was such a pleasure to watch, the joy you got from the experience really shone through, thanks for posting! 1:40 "so when i got up to pee i was very relieved" yes but what about your knee? 🤔
Hi going to Ak for my honeymoon and looking at these flights...May I ask, why you went with Talkeetna Air Taxi? There are other flight companies and would like your input. Thanks!
Just saw this. We went with them because it was on our way up to Denali, they had last-minute availability in late September, and they had great reviews. Best thing we did in Alaska, they were great, we loved it!
Amazing footage… just incredible… I’ll be there soon and will be filming like you… sometimes you had the no wings in your shots and sometimes you had one on the left and right… how did you get the no wing shots… they still looked wide… and some of your shots look like the where pointing down? What mm where you shooting… any tips or suggestions.. would be awesome… thank you
I was in the last seat of the plane and Justin was in the cockpit and we were both filming. The windows are curved in a way that allows you to look down a little and have a wider frame of view than you’d expect. I’d recommend sitting on the right side of the plane if you fly with this company.
I can't see it so would you be good enough to tell me from whom you hired the van please. I'm planning mid July 2025 for 14 days and would like to reserve something early to avoid disappointment. Thanks, Patricia (in France)
Your young kids drama! I actually have lived here in Alaska the past 43 years, flown with the best bush pilots on earth up here, landed in Ruth gorge on the south face of Denali , etc… glad you got to see our Alaska! Your other comments, drama, suck! Just saying!😳🤪🤣
Man, I wish I could get out and travel like this. Just gorgeous. My dream was always professional photography, particularly landscapes, but I was "encouraged" to go a more traditional route like a business major by my folks. Ended up hating all of it, never got a degree in anything, and now I'm stuck working my ass off with little to show for it. It was fair advice in all honesty; the likelihood I'd ever make it doing art photography is outrageously slim. Stay in school, kids. Four years sounds like forever when you're 18 or 20. It *really* isn't. If you think college is a grind, take my advice, it'll get a hell of a lot worse without that little piece of paper, and it'll last forever, not just a few years.
You guys are as awesome as the scenery. Some people have used majestic but we’re not willing to apply that to you but cool and frosty seem appropriate. We have seen Denali in the summer but not from the sit. Don’t think it would be as wonderful as your snowy shots. Thanks for sharing your travels with the world.
Thank you so much for the great video. Our couple decided to travel to Alaska next month. Of course, we're going to have a Denali airplane tour. But I have a question. What mount did you use for gopro9 on the plane window? I ask for your help. Thank you.
Hi guys! Really glad we found you :-) In prep for our trip to Denali, when was yours in 2022? What weeks were you in snow? OMG, our plans to tent sleep is ….losing its appeal! Ha! 😂
I am in awe. of all the Travel RU-vidrs out in the world, your videos are the best. I am just in awe. I love every one of your videos. my wife and I unfortunately are not able to have kids yet so life has left us with money to spend and we traveled to Mexico and Peru and a trip to Jordan and Alaska next.
