Christina and I took a trip to Glacier National Park to try and bike the Going to the Sun Road from Avalanche to Logan Pass, unfortunately the road still was covered in feet of snow above the Loop, so we found other stuff to do and biked up to The Loop!

That and the constant rain didn't stop us from hiking some of the best trails in Glacier National Park along the GTTSR, however we just didn't get the payoff of seeing the majestic peaks and alpine lakes of Glacier National Park.
-
That just means we get to come back, as we got a small taste of what Glacier has to offer!

my parents ashes are at the far end of avalanche lake the chalet is a great early june hike. gotta go through snow, but no one else will be there. i literally walked from a snow drift to the upper deck about 10 years ago. never saw another person during the hike... no berries in spring. the bear was probably eating flower bulbs. it rains in spring/early summer because it's the continental divide. every year. i lived there for 35 years. biked the road for decades. hiked over 3000 miles, summited peaks over 100 times. fished dozens of lakes, backcountry camped and car camped a hundred times easily (under the stars whenever possible).... i'm retired now and exploring the Andes. Ecuador rules!!!

Was there with my wife in mid June last year, so just a few days after you. We saw most of the same stuff. We also spent some a few says in the East Glacier area. There is a hike called Firebrand Pass the is really stunning, even more than Glacier is already. I recommend checking it out when you go back.

I think we were there around the same time! Even biking to the loop was awesome, but we wish it was open further too. Hopefully next year.

Yeah the road is awesome no matter how far you go and it’s amazing how the snow can change year to year! I was able to bike to Logan Pass the same weekend last year, but hoping for next year as well!

I will be at Glacier near end of July. The snow still worries me. But I will push through it. It will be less hiking.

Thanks for watching the video, you'll have a great time! I'm sure the GTTS Road will be cleared by the end of July, but maybe be prepared for snow up high still if you go out hiking!
