I have to say that I love this thing with one reservation: I wish it could mist 24 hours a day. And I agree with you, I LOVE the scents. The one I love the most is the grapefruit. My second favorite is the lemongrass. The other two are ok. Finally, I find that you can put the cap below the bottle when it is hanging in the device. That way, if you want to switch out scents you have the cap to cover the one you want to take out.

I had no idea how to "install" the oil bottle, the instructions were quite vague, so thanks for the video. BTW, I bought it today (June 22, 2024) from Dollarama in Toronto, Canada and paid $5 Canadian dollars (about $3.75 US).

Most helpful! I couldn’t figure out if I had to take the cap off the essential oil and it was driving me crazy for like 10 minutes 😂 hopped on here and thankfully there’s a fix for practically everything on RU-vid!

So pleased I watched your video as there was no way I could get the top off with my arthritic hands so after watching, I knew there was no way I could do this so I had to wait for someone else to come round to unscrew it for me. I'm a bit worried about you saying the refills are hard to come by, so will probably buy quite a few when I see them. Thank you.

I found the starter kit for $5 and the refills for $2 at Ollies. What's really annoying about this device is the automatic sleep mode. I wish it would operate 24/7 if you had the interval on the lowest setting.

Did anyone try alternative oil, maybe use essential oil and mix with water or something, or different manufacturer, cause glade is limited to 3 scents only.

I have tried, not my diffuser doesn't mist anymore. I am not sure if other brands of waterless diffuser can get broken so fast.

I have Air Wick Essential Mist. It operates the same as this! But runs on alkaline batteries.

The aroma mist one? The smaller one? My cousin has that one and I have the aromatherapy, the one in the video. The difference are: the aroma mist has 3 AA batteries, it has no light besides the small light at the top when it is active and mist comes out. I don't know if the oils for the mist is different (the bottle is different, but the scents are the same - Pure Happiness), but in my opinion it seems that the aromatherapy one scent persists for longer.

Omg the top on the oil was so hard to take off, so I thought it was meant to stay on and I was inserting it like that in the diffuser 😂😂

My one doesn't make mist anymore. I used other brands of oil but I don't think it's oils problem, all the waterless diffusers have the same issue.

That’s your problem. You can’t use normal essential oils for this or the air wick. If you want to use use normal essential oils in these things, you need to dilute the oil with perfumer’s alcohol. There are different waterless misting units designed specifically for regular essential oils. Those work without a “wick”.

I popped off the top of the essential oil bottle it came with once I finished it and refilled it with a different brand eucalyptus 🤷🏻‍♀️ it is kind of hard to pop open tho

@mcchicken6009 how did you ratio the oil? Because I am debating if I should do that as well. Did you just put in a different oil? Or did you put something in there with it? I am not sure if it's a special mix in those essential oil bottles or not. Scared to try an ruin my defuser 😅

Its on the video...Once turned on it will work on the first 8 hours then will go on to sleep mode for 16 hours in a 24hour cycle. Once the light is pulsing it is on sleep mode. If you want to reset it you have to press the on/off button.

I suppose your answer doesn’t touch on the why Glade has it to operate on a timer, still. My impression is that people will be away from that space and that way the scent is saved for while you are there, or even while you sleep if you want that.
