Rubbish! What do you base your historical accuracy on? Do you know how many kings in Europe, Africa and some parts of Asia were black during that period in time?
Covenant is a well made movie with a flawed script, and the flaws are superficial sci-fi bugaboo nerdbait. Meanwhile some of Ridley's best movies are from the past decade or so, particularly The Last Duel and The Martian. American Gangster is one of his best, The Counselor and Exodus are both solid films, and All the Money in the World while lackluster was pretty much flawless. The Last Duel is very nearly his best movie. It amazes me how badly it has been overlooked. Also consider that we still haven't seen the full cut of Napoleon.
I absolutely agree with what you said about Denzel. He's one of my all time favourite actors....but I don't see a lot of passion, or new character acting ( from him in this trailer at least). He really does seem a little out of place.
Yeah idc if he's a cool guy or whatever he's not a flexible stunning actor. I think they almost expect sequels to not be able to surpass the original or 1st film, even if it tanks still a money grab

Septimius Severus came from Rome's African province, so yeah, there was a black emperor of the Roman Empire, which housed a diverse population ranging from Nubians to Berbers to Phoenicians to Samartians.

I lied he wasn't black he was mixed part Libyan and Italian but still he was born in north Africa not the typical Roman we've grown up to know on tv and film still some say he was the first person of color to rule Rome.

Great idea to make another type of movie like this. BUT, to call it Gladiator 2 is just BS. A sequel 24 year later??? Hope the story and dialogue is good, its going to have to be.
If you a billionaire you can take out the original writer and even the producer and make yourself a new original from the original. If you don't have the money, you shut up and do what the big guy tells you to do with the movie. Enjoy it guys😅
