I can't help but think, with all these dumb sequels and other projects that parasite off of earlier movies or an IP and the never-ending Marvel and Star Wars drivel, that there will be nobody out there to replace people like Scorsese, Spielberg, Coppola, Kubrick, Mann, etc. It's insane.
@@theyearoftherat The Directors you mention, the ones still living, making probably thier last movies, still blow away modern movie makers who rely too much on CGI. Oppenheimer and the Holdovers from last year were exceptional.

I recommend Japanese, Korean and Italian movies old and new if you want to watch original ideas or just better movies and shows, cultural and societal differences are also interesting.
Exactly where the good movies came from , All American movies that were any good came from Korea and around that area , everything else was just about sexual fetishes that were obviously created by perverted , retired predators who were trying to get close enough to celebrities to touch them . Someone destroyed Hellboy completely , it was the first ones before that got me to watch it , then I wanted to burn the theater down .
Whatever happened to the acting school in USA? Nobody talks anymore, just shouting, shouting, shooting, shooting, plots for under 12 of age, noise and special effects there to cover the absolute vacuum of ideas.
Many of the great actors are 70+ The younger crowd specifically gen z grew up with the internet, tik tok, video games and less personal interaction and literature. It’s going to get worse.

Sadly Perlman turned out to be a complete (cuss word here) during C19, just like 'screw your freedom' Schwarzenegger. Not gonna watch another movie with these (another cuss word here).
Couldn't even bother with timestamps so we could skip ahead to watch a bit of each trailer to see if we are interested or haven't already seen the trailer before.
Tbh imho social media destroyed what magic films USED to have when being released. In my time before internet and cell phones we didn't see contstant trailers like today. Cable tv advertised movies and it was usually one trailer and they didn't expose much of the movie. Movies today are being under satisfied and not being enjoyed for their first appearance to everyone.

Omgoodness that last trailer We live in time with Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh looks like a good movie, emotional but I am definitely going to check it out for sure.
Celebrities like Matt Damon want to do real movies about real problems but the movie industry won't let them. What we see in film nowadays is film censoring. They just want to keep us distracted by entertaining us.
I just commented on something similar- Film set in the UK with only a 'token white' actor. Nah. no sale. The 'White gaze' is still the majority- whether they like it or not.
I want a decent western, space film, bigfoot film, Ancient Egyptian film. That's all I ask. I don't want some straight to Netflix western or half-ass Alien Covenant crap film..or sasquatch comedy or Gerard Butler effing Imhotep. A decent zombie film would also be cool, not a 2 dollar budget one starring 2 people but a legit one.
This is why I watch British tv detective shows,it’s a slow burn. (They’re okay)I also watch shows like The Judge,Emperor of Ocean Park. I’m tired of the rush of watching a movie, they’re all loud, shooting with no substance.
