I understood and your word's speaking the true one.if i don't gonna continue to live this gonna stand. This gonna teach you to be strong because world very ugly space.
Sire, I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish you all well and do hope one day I can have a family like you have. Don't worry my sincere prayers that one day you'll meet your wife at Paradise
Sir, your wife is sleeping in peace & very soon Christ will return & the resurrection will take place on the earth. Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. John 5:28, 29
Gladiator will remain without any shadow of a doubt in the top ten of the best feature films ever created if not the top one. Ridley Scott is a damn genius!
I'm 37 years old & i have watched this movie many times with my Dad mostly.. I watched it again about 2 weeks ago with my Dad at home & my tears still came down at this scene.. What a BEAUTIFUL movie.. 1 of my favorites of all time..
I was 14 when I saw this in theaters, and I was blown away. All these years later and this masterpiece remains in my top 5 movies of all-time. It's about as flawless of a movie as you can get in my book.
I played this song when I walked into the Coliseum in Rome! The hot sun was beating down on my face as I stood on the floor where the gladiators also stood. It was awesome.
At the time that she begins talking she really really did it like a real good and tough Roman Empiror, she was more than a perfect queen of the world in that minutes of time...no other star actress could do it like her....Ridley Scott is always genius in choosing actors.....much respect to her....i was in tears, admiration and a Titanic respect for this queen...
This scene was masterfully done, as was the entire film. What I think about now as I watch it some 22 years later is how Hollywood seems to have forgotten how to do this anymore. It’s been many years since a film has made me feel anything. Super heroes, sequels, remakes and films nobody goes to see winning Oscars.
Stories are a front for values. They bring into physical, the immaterial. Today's stories promote vice, and thus the films have no punch, for evil yields no good and so cannot lay on the viewer a sense of meaning.
Today’s moviemakers are more concerned about a films diversity, gender swapping, and follow a predetermined narrative rather than just making a great film and letting the best actors/actresses play the parts regardless of which box they check
@@highenergyv276 Well stated. Movies like 1976 Les Miserables(anthony Perkins), Pride and Prejudice(keira Knightley), Ben Hur (Charlton Heston) have values of Honor, sacrifice, kindness, integrity. RARELY do you see this in ANY aaa movie today.
an exceptionality powerful and emotional scene.. esp the last bit of not yet, not yet….. pretty much summarises all our existence and hope… just those few words !
I had this on dvd and I love the film as a whole, but the ending - Maximus going through the Elysian fields to his wife and child while the Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard score swells - was almost the whole reason for watching the film, it brings me to such an emotional place...and the dvd ended up jamming right at that moment. Imagine looking into the essence of beauty and then it cuts to an advert for fanny pads....bugger off, I'm feeling here! So beautiful.
I saw this movie when I was nine-years-old in theaters, and I didn't realize then the lasting impact it would have on me. It may seem hyperbolic to some, but I honestly believed it helped shape me into the man I am today. Children can handle more powerful themes and imagery than we give them credit for.
2:58 - 3:15 she goes from almost about to break down crying, to realizing everyone is watching her so she instantly composes herself and prepares to ad lib inspirational an speech. All without saying a word. Great acting!
This has to be one of the most powerful scenes ever shot in a movie!!! And this movie had a ton of great scenes!!! One of the Best Movies ever made and music is Epic!!!
The most beautiful thing in this movie is the perfect casting... All actors both Russel and Joaq acted superbly well.. And i still wonder how he transformed into that complex character which is cold in nature but his eyes burnt for revenge... Epic....
A fallen emperor left in the dirt. A man who had the respect and admiration of an empire on countless levels being carried to the afterlife while leaving behind a legacy that will not be forgotten by his people… This scene moves so many emotions and is a perfect end to a great movie. The first Iron Man was cool, but now it’s hard to keep track of what’s going on on what timeline of which dimension in the multiverse. Hollywood has forgotten how to make movies like this. The patriot, Armageddon, saving private Ryan, the notebook, brave heart… just to name a few. There was a time when movies made you think about honor, courage, commitment, sacrifice, love, humility, compassion. People used to think differently. Everything that comes out now is like a flashy new toy that loses its luster. Yet you all remember scenes that truly moved you from the movies I mentioned. “My sons were better men” “permission to shake that hand of the daughter of the bravest man I’ve ever met” the graveyard scene “will you just stay with me” “FREEDOM!!!”
When i watched this film it was on my mind for weeks and weeks after absolutely brilliant and as sad as an ending it was just an awesome film just like Braveheart.
Whenever i watch scenes from this film, it gets me everytime. Especially the scene where maximus fights with 5 gladiators alone, voices like echoed breathing those come from two of gladiators when maximus slays them is expressing the moment perfectly.
22 anos depois e este filme além de uma obra prima, com a atuação maravilhosa de Russel e Joaquin, ainda consegue me fazer chorar. Devo ter assistido umas 8 vezes já e não me canso.
Life is so important that we don't see the big picture we need to believe in this country again and put God first, does anyone still believe in freedom anymore love your neighbor as yourself
So I was browsing Netflix the other day and asked my co-worker if he saw this movie (he 22) and he said no and I look at him in total disbelief (and felt old af, only 34 n saw in theaters) nevertheless, not only is this in my top 5 all time. But if it wasn't for the soundtrack I don't know if I woulda felt the same about this movie. Absolute master piece!
"Quintus. Free my men..." First order of business as the leader of Rome is to have the men who fought for him to be released. Maximus was a helluva leader and any man would want to fight alongside him.
I wish I could understand English movies like natives, but this movie is still one of my favorite movies and this scene is the most heart torching one which makes everones' eyes wet.
Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe never intended the film to be historically accurate. The screenplay was problematic as it was with a hundred million being spent filming extremely complex sequences. Gladiator allow the audience to immerse themselves into the Romana way of life of Generals and Consuls that ruled Empire that 2 too eventually become a Republic once more. That Marcus Aurelius was a real Consul of the Roman Empire, documentation of his life is not well known. The same is true of other prominent characters in the film. Poetic license is allowed. Maximus Meridius fictional character was a brilliant central character fueling the fire of the story. Ridley readily admits inspiration for this character included one of my all time favorite movies, Spartacus.
