Yes, Livi Sheldon’s gladiator name is Diamond when she and Nitro arrived on BBC Breakfast on Friday the 19th May 2023 and she is a beautiful gladiator woman than Elsa from Frozen.

British version with John Fashanu, Ulrika Johnson, The Scottish Ref, Wolf. The UK version was better but the original American version was good as well

@@sexydudeuk2172 I beg to differ the Sky version was crap you are right about that, but this version i have heard is faithful to the original and the cast seem great. I never prejudge i always allow at least six episodes before i decide how good a series is going to be. They have huge boots to fill but it bet the new Gladiators are ready.

@@andromedaone3640 it's too outdated. Also they must try and bring personality to the new gladiators cos if they try too hard to be like the old ones it won't work in their favour. Sorry but I don't think it'll last more then 2 seasons

@@sexydudeuk2172tally agree. I definitely won’t be watching this lot at all. There’s kids don’t come anywhere near the original lot. I call them kids being 37 years old and lots of them weren’t even born or were too young to even remember the original lot and they won’t even get why we aren’t interested in this lot. I’ve noticed on social media that they are too full of themselves and trying too hard to impress people rather than being themselves and it’s definitely off putting.

@Andy Kirtland I can't believe people are not awilling to give them a chance just because they are the newbies, just remember the original cast are getting on now and probably wouldn't want to do it. Only a couple of the originals still look young and the rest look like grandparents with muscles, that wouldn't be apeling to today's audience.

Yeah Harry overstates his athletics career. Anyone who followed him knew full well he was always a relay fill in at best once out of the juniors anyway. Has ridiculous genes for muscularity. Completely amazing

Yeah totally agree, it's nice to see they will be keeping Hang tough and Duel, two of my favourite events, and from what they have said the costumes will be faithful to the ITV version like the Australian one but with a modern take 😎

I will say I saw the final being filmed it was really good. And there are 2 new events but the classics are there and it was really good I don’t think anyone will be disappointed

And now using names from the original American show. I hope they live up to them.

The UK version of Gladiators was 10 times the size of the US one. That’s from one of the original producers of the show in the US

I loved the original show as a kid back in the day, but I ain’t as excited as I thought I would be with this lot. Definitely won’t be watching it since the original lot will always be seen as the real gladiators and these lot are just trying too hard to be liked, which is off putting. I guess this is the problem with today’s modern society, especially when you see lots of people posting selfies and silly things on social media for attention.

Totally agree, I enjoyed watching the original Gladiators back when I was a kid. Yet, I ain’t excited about this lot one bit. It’s like trying to make a series of Inbetweeners and ruining it altogether.

True - the first Gladiators reboot wasn’t as good and the Crystal Maze reboot wasn’t as good - but I’m optimistic for this. I think the fact it’s on the BBC is a good thing as the show won’t be diluted by adverts, meaning they can pack more games into the show. Hopefully they’ll learn from what didn’t work in the first reboot; Sky tried to throw too much money at it and make it too advanced / hi-tech, and I have to think the BBC will return more towards the old-style games and people-focused presentation. And I think the timing is good with Ninja Warrior a big thing at the moment… this kind of show can do well. Let’s hope it’s a success!
