You need to let your inner Diva out more often. It had all the flirty appeal of Marilyn Monroe and the undeniable sophistication of Katherine Hepburn. You nailed it.
I watch several different furniture flippers but I love watching you because you don't have paint all over your clothes. You are the best. Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟 From Ginger
This turned out beautifully! I know it's not your usual style but you nailed it. Unlike so many other 'furniture artists' you knew when to stop. The gold gilding is perfect.
Even though the color you choose may not be the jam of each individual commenter or subscriber, there is no denying the piece looks better. You are very talented, and you gave life to a poor ole gal and saved her from the landfill. Great job. ❤❤
A lot of people still like/love the provincial look be it French, Italian, Scandinavian, Spanish, etc., etc.. I recommend that you do more of that genre based on how great this dirty, old, horrible brown dresser was transformed into a little beauty that could be placed in pretty much any room of a house. You have a fantastic eye for color, Katie.
Wow… I really didn’t expect to look this good…. I love a touch of gold on solid color dressers…. When my daughter turned 20 she didn’t want white dressers anymore in her bedroom ( she lived with us until 23 until she finished grad school)… I made dark blue wide stripe from top to bottom in the middle of the dresser and added really thin gold stripe on both sides of that stripe and changed hardware to gold too… it has changed that set of dressers from simple to really posh looking set( they’re made from mostly solid wood)…. I’ve painted a night stand dark blue with white stripe in the middle from top to bottom and wider gold stripes on the sides of white….. it still looks amazing 10 years later… she took it with her when she left and still keeps it in a spare bedroom…
Hi Katie and greetings from Virginia, USA!! I love what you did with this dresser! The handles and the gold trim paint are just the right amount of "jewelry" for this piece! She's fabulous!! I'll be the first to admit that I am NOT a fan of all the "paint-and-stencil-and-applique" furniture makeovers that seem to be trending at the moment. It's a DRESSER, NOT a canvas! It doesn't have to look like a floral arrangement to hold sweaters or whatever is going to live in the drawers. That said, I am a fan of the contact paper for the drawer liners. To me, it's a much more subtle approach than the floral appliques plastered on the outside of the piece. Thanks for letting me rant! Have a wonderful weekend!!!
This is fabulous! I chuckled when you said the “fish is was concerning”. I have been there when we painted our kitchen. The first roller gave me a “what have I done?” feeling. It dried to a beautiful color and I just love it.
I saw a gorgeous turquoise French Provincial bureau like that, with gold trim, on Marketplace in Toronto. Sold, alas, but I kept a photo. The seller called it blue mint. Perfect anywhere. Love your work, Katie. That’s a gorgeous deep red.
WOW❗️Those gold ⚜️ details made the piece next level. I preferred the color change too. And that drawer liner is a beautiful touch! Love 💜 your content! I can tell you’re steppin’ up your game.
I was thinking "please don't do gold" and then you went with gold😅. But in the end, even if it's not my usual cup of tea, it looks amazing. I think you did the right amount of bling. The draw liners was a fantastic match!
Agreed. I grew up with a white French provincial bedroom set that I loved. I finally got rid of it 30 years later! I wasn't sure about the red, but it turned out amazing! The gold trim was definitely a good addition!
Nothing like a new weekend video from Katie! Red's my favorite color, autumn is my favorite season, and this transformation did not disappoint! Love the paint, which to me looks like a beautiful antique, aged barn deep rich red--and then you brightened and glammed it with your gilded accent paint. Amazing job as always!
Katie, it’s glorious! When you said red, I cringed, but I was so wrong. There’s only a couple of problems with it-there are too many miles and a pick up truck between us for it to ever be mine. I love it! Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing your thought process and expertise! I wouldn't have known that red paint requires more coats. I really appreciate your channel!
Not a colour for me, but often we do not refurbish for ourselves do we. Excellent tutorial and a grate finish. I must watch more of your inspirational work.
I love this makeover. My first project was a French provincial dresser and two nightstands. I’m still using them, but want to redo them. You’ve inspired me and given me some ideas! Thank you!!!!🎉🎉🎉
FP is not my style but the result on this makeover is a total 'Wow!' I'm into (time-consuming) detail work so really appreciated your willingness to do the gold accents. Really elevates the piece. 😊
Brought it back to life! I have the matching desk and I’ve been trying to find this dresser and matching nightstands for some time 😭 I was nervous when the paint was applied but it dried to such a beautiful color!
This reminds me of watching Lisa from Ivy Lane Interiors. It seems like something she would do to a piece. If you’ve never checked out her channel, you should! It’s absolutely stunning (as your work always is)! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful !! Kacha will be so proud of you for using Gold on this piece. Lol 😂 I love her too but the one thing Kacha loves is Gold. Great Job and thank you thank you for your videos in transforming furniture pieces.
I am completely and totally IN LOVE with this peice! It easily ranks in the top 10 of my favorite makeovers you have done! It's absolutely gorgeous!!! ❤
Katie that is beautiful...like very beautiful. I love the education you give...I did not know all of the stuff about rub off easily no one I've looked at talk about it. Girl and that wallpaper is gorgeous.
Love what you did, with the color choice and the liner paper❤❤❤. The added gold detailing really adds a gorgeous pop, with the line details on the piece.😊😊😊
