Can you explain what a packing tooth scraper is used for? Is it used on the glands/labyrinth seals or is there packaging material that is being scraped out of the glands/seals?

What will happen if the 2 gland exhaust blowers stopped

I have seen a flash tank with spray cooler but without atmospheric vent. After latching of turbine all drains from HP msv , HP cv are collected to flash tank. The condensate from VSC (leak of Gland steam condenses in VSC by exchanging heat to Condensate from CEPs discharge) also get collected there. Spray coolers from condensate line spray water to flash tank to control temperature . Fresh condensate pumps used to control level of flash box by pumping condensate back to hotwell. Flash tanks are one of the most critical component . Monitoring of Flask Tank level is of high priority during startup & shutdown.Water induction in steam turbine can be happen when fresh condensate pump fails to operate Spray coolers stuck open Passing in drain movs or steam traps malfunctions. Normally drain movs are close but a slight passing can result into water induction.
