This video shows you the process involved in blowing molten glass into a plaster glassblowing mould. This video features the amazing James Maskrey who was my hot glass teacher at Sunderland University when I studied on the BA Glass and Ceramics - I graduated in July 2024 with a first.
The mould in this case was one that I made using a lathe turned plaster block which I turned to create a vase shape. The blank - which I had turned on the lathe - was also used to create a second mould - a plaster slip casting mould - from which I slip cast the vase shape in clay.
