Bach's most famous organ piece arranged for glass harp.

A theory has recently (1981) been put forth that J. S. Bach did not write this piece. A brief summary of the supporting evidence for this theory can be read here:

@@captainwithers I spent the last five years teaching myself how to play the glass harp and was just about to go on stage for my first live performance when I got a ding on my phone notifying me of your comment. Can you imagine how embarassing it would've been to find that out on stage? I immediately canceled the show and repurposed the harp for my new hobby of chucking wine glasses at complete strangers on the street while shouting incoherently about the time I wasted. @kingsxkids

This is the most amazing skill I can imagine. This is nuts to play on my guitar. Robert does not merely touch each glass- as of a piano key. He must glide over some segment of the glass circumference as the duration of contact controls quarter, half or whole notes. I cannot imagine how this is possible- yet I see with mine own eyes. " for the Glory of God " as Bach himself would say.

Not to mention the length of time it must take to "tune" each glass of different sizes with different amounts of water. It's not as if he can pack his instrument up once tuned properly! I presume he must have a record of how many milliliters of water in each glass will cause it to issue a particular note!

Crystal Glasses have been invented in 1673 by George Ravenscroft, but regular glasses were used for making music since the Middle Ages. The first musical instrument made of upright wine glasses was called the glass harp and was invented around 1750, around same time of Bach . About 10 years later, Benjamin Franklin invented a mechanical version of the glass harp, called the glass harmonica.

Exquisite! You can't just listen to this. You have to watch as well. Half the joy of this "instrument" is to watch it being played. Bravo!
