Both of these elevators remind me of the 2016 Kone eco-disc that was newly installed when they built a brand new food court onto one of the malls down in the city here in the province of Nova Scotia. You can see the eco-disc and the entire elevator shaft, it even has glass doors it really is a nice installation. Overall I have to say these are pretty decent KSS 500 elevators, they look pretty nice and they look like they run smooth. I'm just glad the fixtures aren't innovation Universal, because that's the type of fixtures they put on our glass elevator.
The color scheme of this facility is sensory overload with battleship gray, darker gray, and other gray. Sunglasses are a must!!! But these elevators are actually really cool. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the elevators are, by far, the most aesthetically pleasing parts of this place... even for people outside of the community of elevator enthusiasts. By the way, they could use your camera work on this one for advertising for the toll plazas. Very nice!
I found out on Google maps that this is also a truck stop. Many trucks stop here. If my senior travel club becomes a reality, this might be one of the stops on the would be hopeful trips the new club might make. I am glad that you did an elevaTOUR of this place. Spotted at 1:04 is looking at the walk leading past the stairway to the bridge crossing the highway is what makes this community very popular. My eyes would sometimes act up if I had to walk past that stairway as they would tell me stories as I would try to make my way over to the bridge over the highway. For those who are into big trucks, this is a good place to stop to film trucks going by.
Dang how have I missed this. I drive through Vinita at least once a year. I usually am taking backroads in and out though. I WILL stop here next round.
Nice glass elevators 2:1 roping I recently saw where the roping was changed on a Gen 2 MRL 2:1 sheaves were moved from top of shaft to top of cab, free ends of cable anchored to top of shaft.
To STL Elevators If there are any videos of both of these elevators that you have filmed in this video, then could you please send me a link to this video ?
The what-used-to-be the worlds largest McDonalds. IDK if it really beats the worlds largest truckstop in IA. I stop there on a road trip to film their KONE KSS 500 hydro that dieselducy has filmed
Typical KONE Ecodisc elevators, and oh yea, this place was originally the world's largest Mcd's, it sucks that it's not the largest anymore because of it being a standard travel plaza now.
I have seen one other Ecodisc like that in a museum where the motor is just hanging there on the guide rail and you can look very closely at it and hear the brake loudly.
