Really enjoyed this video! The frames that suited you both were really lovely on. I've worked in optical practices dispensing glasses for 12 years and am a qualified Dispensing Optician in Scotland. I recently opened my own Eyewear Boutique selling high end eyewear and undertook an Eyewear Styling course that covers identifying the customer's style personality, colour and facial analysis to find them eyewear that compliments their features and colouring as well as styles that reflect their personality. What a difference it makes being able to offer eyewear that people LOVE and are excited about instead of the same old boring glasses you can find everywhere else. Great video! Would love to see more like this one!!

I’m glad I found this as I have an optician appointment tomorrow; I wish I knew my colours though.My grey is less silver, I have green-hazel eyes & light skin that I can’t decide the undertone of despite being & jewellery tests! I can see me going for clear or grey to be safe but I really wanted to embrace them as a feature.

Having "met" Kerry-Lou and Ginger in the last few months because of going gray, I was anxious to see this. I only had to start wearing glasses recently after some eye surgeries. Fortunately, the staff at my optometrist suggested a blue tortoise frame for me which I would have never chosen. When blonde, I always went for a yellow/brown tortoise but that no longer is a good look with my new hair color. Loved seeing both women model the different shapes, sizes and colors. I think I might get a little bit more daring with my next pair! Thanks to both of you for a good tutorial.

VERY difficult to find glasses below size 50, and bridge has sizes too which are also hard to find in small sizes, and that adds to the overall width. Nearly impossible to find the size I need and I am stuck buying kids glasses, and also have to have adjustable nosepads which rules out most plastic glasses that have the fixed nose support.

Fun video! I have a wardrobe of reader glasses. LOL. I am far sighted so only need glasses for computer or reading. I used to have progressive lenses when I worked, but now that I am retired, readers work just fine. Makes it easy to have a wardrobe inexpensively!

I wear bi-focal glasses ( progressive) and am 69. Delighted to find your channel and this in particular. Just purchased new ones, but interested in some you showed. Now I have to learn how to order the type I need without someone sitting there adjusting to my face. Plus I too have a fairly narrow face and going from steaked blond to grey hair ( I'm tri toned currently). I like my new glasses but would like to change from time to time. I am so pleased you are reviewing glasses - I am ready for new ones I live in Germany but buy my eye ware in the UK (when we can travel there). Germany is over priced and I don't like the styles they have, so next visit to our daughter in the UK I will be better informed. I use Spec Savers always found the choice suited me.

I've worn glasses for a long time and what I hated most about purchasing frames is usually my eyes were already dilated (my fault for not picking them out beforehand) when trying the frames on and having to rely on someone else opinion, only to discover later that I was stuck with these glasses for a year or two that I would not normally wear out of my closet. 😅. My next purchase for glasses will be online.

Amen I did that summer 2021 lol have a large pair love the shape colors but there way to big lol 😆 😄 don't stay on right slide way to much finely orderd off zenni lol two new beautiful glasses coming purple oval ones and half rim pink the pink are more girly and have a bit more fun but are so close to one of my fav pairs lol and both same size meduim close to my 2019 frame numbers lol got two small but the prescription was wrong so I'll be keeping the frames and having right prescription lenses put in them lol in the future and have so much saved and 3 ready to buy lol when I can think new glasses are my obsession lol 😆

I'm probably one of the weird people who love wearing glasses. I will be having cataract surgery over the summer and then won't need them which I will miss but maybe reading glasses.I love sunglasses too, always have. My fave shape in eyeglasses is cat eye which works well for me.Your hair looks amazing. xoCathy

That's true, glasses can be expensive, although some of these glasses are about $95 which isn't too bad. I tend to have my glasses for a few years, so I have a few pairs. I wear contacts, but sometimes I like to give my eyes a rest from them.

I wear glasses all the time so I like frames that are not predominant on my face and are light in weight. I have a longer face like Ginger. My current glasses are a smaller oval lens with a filament bottom (smaller that the ones in the picture) The rest of the frame is small, metal with a light pink/gold tone. They are light and very comfortable to wear all the time. I do think if I only had glasses for reading it would be fun to have "statement' glasses. Thanks for the good info!

Much as I would love to take Jen’s suggestion of having a wardrobe of glasses, I cannot afford for that to happen. I live in New Zealand and my lenses alone (full progressives in best quality glass with a reflective coating) cost over $1,200.00. I also need what are referred to as a “work pair” which have been quoted at a little less. This is without the frames for either pair, which generally run at over $200 at the minimum, to $500+ for a more designer pair. Consequently, it is costing me about $3,000.00 for the two pair.

Oh Ginger how true! How often I've been intimidated by the optometrist assistants with comments that veer you toward their tastes & insult your own. I feel you would look great in thin rectangular rose gold glasses. The plastic are too heavy and make the nose look too long.

I have long face I find I use more square or rectangle in petite size I was a redhead now salt and pepper so now I'm finding different colors I have silver now so far its ok.

May I ask about your hair, Kerry-Lou?t It is such a lovely silver/grey/ white color. Do you color it? Mine has been turning a little yellow and I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to keep it the nice cool grey that it is at my roots. I'm 46 and decided to let it go natural 2 years ago. I've liked it except where the crisp color fades and becomes yellowed. I use clarifying shampoo and purple shampoo and have softened water. Any tips?

Thanks for your question - Gosh it seems like you are doing all the right stuff to keep your locks sparkly! I wonder if there is some kind of mineral that is in your water supply? Are you using hair spray? That could yellow hair. it could also be heat related - everything shows with white silver hair, so a hot iron, or a very hot hair dryer can kind of "toast" the hair. There is a brand called Maison 276 which specialises in keeping silver/white locks sparkling. I use Aveda products when I wear my hair curly, or Living Proof for when I blow out my hair. Thank you Linda, this is such a tricky subject to explain - I will make a video that is specific to this subject and nothing else within the next couple of months. Basically if you "mirror" your face shape with your glasses you accentuate your face shape, ie - if you have a square face, and you wear square specs, you will look more square. Or if you have a "top heavy" or an inverted triangle, you may want to avoid wearing an up-swept eyeglass shape. But as Ginger points out in this video, if you like your face shape, you may want to exaggerate it! Stay tuned ;-D

Kerry Lou, You are lovely and your hair is so pretty. I am curious about your eyebrow color. Is that the original Color? the darkness in your hair is very dark but your eye brows are a a totally different color.

Thanks Nancy, over the last couple of years I have been on the look-out for the perfect soft grey, probably in this video I was using a taupe color. I have since found a great brow product by Silvering Beauty which is a soft true grey, and it goes much better with my hair color!

I would love to be able to afford a larger wardrobe of glasses! That would be fun. I like the red frames on you. Our coloring is similar and I have a soft red pair (I thrifted the frames) that are similar to those you tried on. They are fun. Which pair(s) did you choose?

Higgins Caribbean Mist were the only glasses that didnt make her have to tilt the head back and look down the nose to see whats what. All the other glasses didnt cover the top part of the eye. I know when i am wearing glasses, I want to see everywhere I look, not just that pinpoint at the end of my nose. Also speckled plastic glasses and silver glasses really date a person. Imo glasses should not make the wearer have to change eye make up or clothes to suit. Glasses should just be to enhance vision.

Most of this is very good information. However, I was an optician for 10 years and have a narrow bridge so that "middle" number is critical. Not that a 17, is a 17 or a 15 is a 15. Those measurements do not necessarily fit the shame of the nose. Your friend Jen is wearing a frame that DOES NOT fit her nose. It sets on the top and does not touch the sides. Eyeglass frames must fit your bridge "nose" perfectly. This can't be done online.
